Salerno Italy may initially seem like a bland big city, but the place has a charming individuality, especially around its historic center where medieval churches and neighborhood trattorias bustle with activity. This historic city center features a tree-lined seafront promenade widely considered to be one of the cheeriest and most attractive in Italy. In Salerno you will find a variety of landscapes and natural realities, rich in history. Today the city of Salerno offers its visitors a mild climate for most of the year and it’s known for the excellent cuisine.
Salerno Weather – When to Visit
Without a doubt the best time to visit Salerno is from April to June, when the spring flowers are in bloom, the weather is just warm enough, and the temperature of the Mediterranean allows for the first dips of the season.
By choosing late spring or early summer, you can also avoid the tourist crush of July and August and the oppressive temperatures later in the year. The tourist season officially begins at Easter and runs through the month of September, but during May and June prices are generally lower than during July and August.
If you love local festivals and nightlife, remember that most events take place on the coast during the months of July and August. The calendar of concerts and festivals is busy during these two months, which is also when most of the international jet-set anchor their yachts off the Amalfi Coast and can be seen in the most glamorous restaurants and clubs onshore, including “Music On the Rocks” in Positano and “Africana” in Praiano.

The Cala Bianca beach, surrounded and immersed in the Mediterranean bush, can only be reached in two ways, the first is by boat from Marina di Camerota, or walking through an old path where there are the remains of buildings used in the past for drying and baking the red clay.
La Baia Beach

At the end of the beach there is a 16th-century old tower which is responsible for the safety on the shore.
You can reach the Beach Maiori only by boat. This beach has a white sandy shore line with crystal clear water. It is a perfect beach for diving as well. If you visit this beach, definitely try Italy’s most famous champagne, the prosecco. Restaurants here offer this great refreshing drink.
Conca dei Marini Beach
This beach is the perfect choice for those who want to avoid the huge crowds. The Grotta dello Smeraldo, also known as Emerald Cave, has unique characteristics with a green light inside the cave.
