OMG! What a beautiful and amazing place to visit. As a kayaker you really caught my attention with the night trip to Havelock Island therough the mangroves. Tat would be so amazing to do.

I have never been out of the country other than to Canada, so that would be a once in a lifetime trip to go and kayak. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful place to add to my bucket list of things to do.

I enjoy relaxing on beautiful beaches.  This beach you are discussing from the image looks so amazing and private. Thanks for letting us know of when to visit Havelock Island and from this can plan a vacation. Scuba diving is fun for everyone in your family to enjoy the nature of the water, the Elephant Beach looks promising as well for family fun. I will be sharing this post with family, so they can have a say also on what beaches to visit.

    Hi,

Thanks very much for yet another brilliant episode! I must say, this is one of my favourite newly discovered websites! The only problem is I am sooo tempted to visit all of the islands presented herein, but I for many reasons (time, travelled too much already, etc) would not be able!

The fact that the food (both the protein and veggies) are fresh and obtained locally in these islands, is a Big Plus to me! It is sooo mouthwatering!

If I may ask, the islands seem to be much closer to Myanmar and Thailand than they are to India and Sri Lanka. How comes they are Indian territory?

    Warmest regards, always.

In December 2018, Havelock Island was renamed as Swaraj Island as a tribute to Subhas Chandra Bose.  bose had hoisted the Indian flag at Port Blair on December 30, 1943 and proclaimed the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as territories liberated from British Rule 🙂  And yes, you will find mouth  watering food here!  I appreciate you taking the time to leave me comments.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hi, thank you for sharing information about Havelock Island. It looks absolutely fantastic! India has never been on my list of beach destinations at all and it sure looks appealing. I have a couple of questions: which is the nearest international airport to fly to? And since I have never been to India: is the food save to eat (i.e. without suffering from diarreha :)). Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my questions.

Havelock Island does not have an airport of its own. You can fly into the international airport in Port Blair, the administrative capital of Andaman Islands. This airport has many flights to various Indian cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam. The major airline operators flying these routes are Air India, Air India Regional, SpiceJet, GoAir and Jet Airways.  The food is safe to eat.  I love Indian food.  Some of it is on the spicy side,  so just make sure you ask about what you are ordering.  Thanks for visiting my Havelock Island Andamans guide.

And all in a positive way!

I have never thought of going to this havelkvk island in the Andaman but it seems really nice and there are great places to see too. I’ll be sure to go along with my son screen if I decide to go. It looks totally appealing for travel to once the rainy season is over. Is there a package deal available? How much advance notice would you have to give? The area is simply beautiful and has much to offer. The star reviews are all positive with only one that is the low eights range. I saw that one of them offers tours. Do the other resorts offer tours as well or do you have to schedule with your travel agent?

I may have to check it out for myself and my wife. It would be nice to travel somewhere that is as exotic as this appears to be.

That’s a really cool looking travel destination. When I was in the Navy, I was stationed for a year on Diego Garcia. It is about 4 degrees south of the equator. and it is practically due south of Mumbai. That’s about as close as I’ve gotten to Havelock Island. The scenery reminds me a lot of Diego Garcia, but that’s where the similarities end. There’s no question that Havelock Island’s accommodations outclassed the Navy Bachelor Officer’s Quarters.  😉

    Hi, Leahrae,

Those places look amazing! I’m always looking for new places to travel to. I haven’t been able to travel as much as I’d like to due to the pandemic, but I’ve been actively doing research on new destinations and adding new places to my bucket list.

I love the beach, but I try to avoid those that get crowded. Based on your post, I’d like to visit Govind Nagar Beach. It looks like the perfect spot to unwind and relax in a peaceful environment.

Regarding the restaurants, they’re good options in the mid-range. Do you have any recommendations for street food or markets? I’m curious.

Thanks for sharing. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey Leahrae, I am a big lover of water, the beach to be precise. I live in a very dry area and there there is hardly any beach i can go to and it’s really sad. Reading about the Havelock Island made me have some nostalgic feeling and I really want to spend some time in this beach. Hopefully towards the end of the year I should get a booking and visit this Island. However these listed restaurants are very nice as well. I’ll bookmark this post for reference. Cheers
