Ancona: City With Over 2400 Years of History

Ancona: City With Over 2400 Years of History – Situated on the eastern coast of Central Italy is the small port town of Ancona. Ancona is the capital of a rich and historic region, and is a city of the sea. The city has a magnificent coastline to the south, with clean and accessible water and unspoiled white beaches. It was founded by Greek settlers around 387 BC and has many reminders of its long history: archaeological artefacts, Roman arches, Romanesque churches, and Renaissance palazzi that glow softly in the evening light. Wander in the hilltop parks, lively boulevards and café-rimmed piazzas and you’ll fall in love with this seafront capital. You can also visit all of Italy’s great beaches on Pinterest.
