Nassau Weather – When to Visit Nassau

Although the beaches are more crowded, the best time to visit Nassau is during high season, which runs from mid-December to mid-April, making it a great spot for a warm winter getaway. Nassau summers are generally warm and sometimes rainy, with daytime temperatures reaching an average high of 89.7°F. The low season lasts from June to November.

Nassau does fall within the hurricane belt, so hurricanes may be a factor between June 1 and Nov. 30. Most of these months (plus May) also fall within the region’s rainy season, which can leave you with fewer days spent enjoying the islands’ outdoor activities. But keep in mind that mid-December to mid-April’s weather attracts hordes of tourists, so prices will be at their highest and crowds at their thickest during these months.

Wonderful beaches, the video is great.
I have heard of the Bahamas, but less of Nassau.
I don’t know if I will ever get here.
I am attracted to unique ecosystems.
And the expanses of living coral reefs, suitable for snorkeling.
Nassau is in the hurricane belt, so be careful.
I don’t know what parasailing is, also fried panini, conch fritters–I will be interested.
There are charismatic bartenders here, which is great.
    Respectfully
    Vasile,

Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas.  Their are 4 unique ecosystems in the Bahamas, Preacher’s Cave, Deans Blue Hole, the Subsurface Bahamian Caves, and Primeval Forest National Park.  There are 5 excellent snorkeling places in the Bahamas with live coral:  Exumas Cays Land and Sea Park, Rose Island Reef, Gambier Deep Reef, and the Andros Barrier Reef.  Yes, it is in the hurricane belt, but advance planning around that time of year, and you are good.  Hurricane season is from June thru November. November and late April are ideal times to go.  Parasailing is the recreational activity of gliding through the air wearing an open parachute while being towed by a motorboat.  I hope I covered everything you were thinking about 🙂

Great guide to Nassau. I’d like to include the Bahamas as a side trip the next time I’m in Florida, so this will be a fantastic resource. Having a flights search right there on the page really helps too. I might try and tie in with the Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix next spring. Hopefully, that will be outside hurricane season!

It will be.  We don’t generally get hurricanes until September, and they usually are not a threat by mid-November.

How beautiful does this destination look!

Thank you for writing this travel guide about Nassau. It looks like a stunning holiday destination. I have always wanted to go to the Bahamas as well. I was just wondering, how is the situation with public transport? Or do you really need to hire a car to get around?

There are plenty of buses to get you around town.  Public buses are called Jitney, often recognized using green number plate and a number written on all slide.  This is the most popular mode of transportation in Nassau.

Any time I read of Bahamas, I remember the popular televangelist from Bahamas – Myles Munroe. And your description of Bahamas as one of the most beautiful places in the world make me consider visiting Nassau. And the way you itemize the beaches around this ancient town makes it look like a perfect site for holiday. Thank you of this in depth look at Bahamas

I’ve always wanted to visit the Bahamas, and Nassau is one of the main places I want to visit. This guide is so helpful to me as it helps me with prices, hotels, beaches etc. Are there any other parts of the Bahamas, such Freeport or Bimini, that you would recommend?

For the ultimate fairy-tale getaway, head to Harbour Island. With pastel-colored cottages, swaying palm trees and alluring blush-tinted sand, this dreamy oasis is worthy of a postcard. The Exumas are another area of the Bahamas, fames for their cobalt blue water, white sand beaches and friendly swimming pigs, this chain of 365 cays along the Atlantic Ocean is so esteemed that many of its islands are privately owned by celebrities.  Eleuthera  has dramatic cliffs, miles of unspoiled coastline and some of the sweetest pineapples in the world which makes this picturesque island ideal for long, leisurely days by the water.  Freeport is a city on the Grand Bahama Island and Bimini is great, especially if you enjoy fishing.  A lot of Floridians vacation here simply because it’s so close.
