Seriously I didn’t think there was a beach without waves, so this rised
intrest in me for the Island of La Gomera, not to speak about the quietness
because as an introvert that the best gift I can ask for overall I think the Island of La Gomera
is a great place to visit I just wanted to ask if you can bring pets
Yes, you can take your pets here 🙂 Sounds like the perfect paradise for you!
I and my Girlfriend were considering visiting the island of Tenerife, but when I saw a picture of La Negra beach with its black sand, I just loved it. I definitely want to go there. We started to look for flights there. Hope we will be lucky to find some good deals by the end of September, but I think till the mids of October will be fine as well with the climate.
And vegetarian restaurants is our main priority as my girlfriend can’t eat meat, proper dishes are what motivate us.
Thank you for review.
You will enjoy. I love Tenerife, but La Gomera is equally as beautiful and with plenty to see and do, or just relax. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Wow, La Gomera seems to really be a magical island! I like the attractions such as hiking and kayaking! Also, the weather seems to always be nice in La Gomera. I’d rather go in February than in August because I can’t stand when it’s hot. Actually it’s ironic since I’m an African woman! But I would go to La Gomera without hesitation, it seems to be a nice place to rest and meditate…
Yes, La Gomera is for anyone! Great place for some R&R, not to mention the food and the culture to take in.
Of course I know the Canary Island, but I had not heard of La Gomera specifically. The video is amazing. It looks like a Paradise. The information you offered is detailed and sufficient to plan an entire trip including entertainment. For such a beautiful place, the prices are very reasonable…. much better than where I live. As well, everything, including the roads looks modern and well care for. Thank you for this introduction to La Gomera. Since retirement, we have been looking for travel destinations. This may certainly be one of them.
My aunt retired in the Canary Islands and she loves it there. Gives me great reasons to head there for sure. And if I could I would live there as well. Lots of German folk head to the Canaries, kind of like snow birds I guess. Wonderful place!
This is an awesome article and a must-see to add to the bucket list. I love how you have gone into detail about what one can do and even prices to help with budgeting. Your website is also pretty awesome I will keep an eye out for future blogs because I like the style of writing you have. Much information is given out and highly convincing =, I think I need a holiday here soon.
The canary islands, who doesn’t love them? I like the fact that this island doesn’t have large hotels or a vibrant nightlife scene, but that there is plenty of nature and tranquility. Stunning video. Which gives you a great idea of the vibe of the island. Although I must say that the beaches don’t look that great, what can you say, it is still Europe… not the Bahamas :p
Another great piece of work from your desk. I have read some of your work on Island and some strategic cities like Bahamas. Its highly illustrative. Thank you for been in depth again with La Gomera. I look forward to seeing its beautiful beaches and also the beautiful temperature in August and September. We will pin on one of our visits for next year
Ow lord you done it now! I need a vacation soon, and those images are so realistic especially if you have been to any tropical island and visited the beautiful Caribbean! French Polynesian is one of our dreams to visit one day. I heard its pricey, but you need to do 2 weeks to fully enjoy because of jet lag. I am curios are these all places you personally have visited, and I would love to see recommendations and the best time of year to visit these beautiful places. I love how easy it is to navigate the page and the information. Good job and good luck to you.
Kevin and Son
I agree, always at least 2 weeks. Depending on where you are flying from, I don’t consider the travel days as days on vacation, because they just aren’t. You get there in time to unwind and maybe have a good meal and a drink or too. Please let me know if you need help deciding on a location 😀
I very much liked your site, very informative and gave plenty of options while your reader decides which beach to get a tan on. Your site is very clean and the only thing that I see as an area of improvement is the hotel options list. I would just make the hotel list a side-by-side view so as not to have so much white space on the page unused.
Hi Leahrae,
I started my morning coffee with this post of yours. Watched the stunning video. It’s spectacular and mind blowing. I loved everything. I sometimes walk 20 Kilometer for my exercise. Imagine me taking a walk around this beautiful little haven, stopping by a $10 vegetarian lunch, playing on sand. The hotels are affordable. I really want to go and visit this one. It’s in my list.
Thank you so much for a truly amazing review.
Great, and wow how nice to walk along the beach. I live on the beach, and that is something I do almost everyday. Cannot be beat!
Hi, Leahrae! Thanks for this interesting article. La Gomera sure does offer the perfect escape to the hustle & bustle of city life. There are dramatic beaches, trails through tropical mountain scenery and misty rainforest. This place is certainly a good choice to hike at the Garajonay, perfect for an adventurer like me. This place is a hidden gem!
It is a hidden gem! I am glad you enjoyed and thank you for stopping by and taking the time to leave me comments 🙂
Your description of La Gomera entices the reader to go there. I have never actually ever seen a black sand beach and would find this aspect of La Gomera fascinating. Not being in love with crowded destinations, I rather like the sound of La Negra Beach and the Teide National Park Tour. When I visit new places I always want to indulge in the local culture so Casa Efigenia sounds like just the ticket to try the Canarian food. Thanks for a great review.
You are welcome Jenni, thank you for visiting Beach Travel Destinations.
Wow. Reading your description of La Gomera is one thing. Watching the video is another. It is absolutely stunning. I immediately went to the food section. La Tasca seems like a delicious place to eat. At $11 – 30 bucks, it’s very affordable. I love pizza, risotto, pasta. Great review.
Thank you Shalisha! I am glad you enjoyed.
