Italy is definitely one of the most beautiful countries to visit and Salerno will be my next destination. August is the best time for me as kids are on vacation, I am sure they will be amazed next year, I will keep it as secret. My wife and me have been wanting to travel to Italy with our two kids for a short vacation, and we were actually planning on going sometime in Feburary. Do you have any suggestions on a good place to go that is family friendly during that time of the year?
Oh sounds wonderful! For the family definitely do the Museo Virtuale della Scuola Medica Salernitana, an interactive museum dedicated to medieval medicine. and head to the Giffoni Film Festival – Europe’s biggest children’s film festival. The festival is however, in July. Another place that would be interesting for the whole family is Castellabate. Castellabate is a medieval town lying close to Salerno that is famous for its turquoise waters and beautiful historic architecture. It is divided into three areas; Castellabate medieval center, Santa Maria and Santa Marco. Take them to the Castello Di Arechi Castle. This medieval fortress will be interesting for the whole family. Thank you for detailed post, I was looking for something like this.. Why I am interested in this is those “wild beaches” I like.. I don’t like crowded places so it’s always better to go to a beach that isn’t easy approachable.. Cala Bianca Beach seems to be the right for me… but I was wondering, is mid of september good time to come to that place? And since my budget is limited, I’ll have to choose some airbnb apartment instead of hotels.. But great information and overview, you cleared my mind 🙂
Hi Petar, September is a great time to visit Salerno. The temperatures will be warm, with average temperatures between 78°F to 86°F. For a great rate and good reviews, you can stay at the affordable Salerno Inn B&B which is about $47 a night in September. Since I love touring very much I have fell in love with the Salerno travel guide information. I love the beaches of Salerno, especially the view of the La Crespella Beach. When I am stressed, heading to the beach just calms and relaxes me. I am ready for a trip to Salerno. Thanks for all the great information.

Your specific point that the historic city of Salerno has very attractive tree-lined seafront promenade is a major takeaway for me. My family will also be interested half-day private shore excursion to Pompeii as it’s a UNESCO World Heritage-listed destination.

I’m lucky today to have found your article, it looks Salerno is a great city to visit and to spend some days, as it offers everything a tourist love, some warm temperatures beaches to spend one day or maybe two with nice restaurants to visit and to enjoy a great Italian dishes. These beaches are really cool and would be a nice place to rest. I have plans of traveling round the world as a retirement plan and I have a friend who is in search of a place to go for vacation later. The search for a really nice place have been difficult, but it seen this place would be best for anyone to have a good time with the cheap fee for its restaurants as well.
