This picturesque beach is located on the coast of Santa Catarina in the southern part of Florianopolis. The beach is a beautiful place even with the pretty big waves making it difficult for swimming. Head to our Luxury Accommodations in Florianopolis Brazil guide for vacation planning.
Praia do Amor
The Beach of Love is so-called because of the heart shape that the natural swimming pools form at low tide. Station yourself on a sun bed and watch the surfers cutting across the bay and people playing volleyball and bat-and-ball on the sand. Baia dos Golfinhos Beach
Baia dos Golfinhos, or simply Dolphins Beach, is a truly stunning beach and is a “must see” beach. The setting is truly breathtaking with the cliffs, tropical vegetation and the stunning semi-deserted beach all-blending together in perfect harmony. This beach is well suited for swimming as the waves are small. The beach does not offer any infrastructure such as bars, sun beds or other facilities, so be sure to bring some water, snacks and a beach towel with you. Hi Leahrae, I could probably spend all day dreaming about just the Brazilian beaches on the site! I have been to only 2 of the beaches on this list (Copacabana and Ipanema), but they were both some of my most memorable beach visits.
I didn’t swim at either beach, or even sunbathe, but rather took off my Havainas long enough to walk in about knee-deep and check out the view from the water. I loved the iconic black and white tile pattern on the walkway along Copacabana and all the neat little places to stop for a drink or a bite to eat right along the beach. I definitely recommend this incredible beach to my friends!
Great Aly! Thanks for taking the time to leave me comments. Glad you enjoyed your visit to beach travel destinations.
Anybody looking for a holiday to Brazil, will find all the information here. Although Ipanema and Copacabana are the 2 most famous beaches in Brazil, there are several other beautiful destinations, that might not be as crowded as the main beaches.
Dolphins beach will certainly be on the list of must see beaches. Although I enjoy people watching, I prefer a less crowded beach and Porto de Galinhas with the pools for snorkeling, sounds perfect to me.
I agree with you completely. I live on a crowded beach and always head down the road to the quieter beaches.
I see that Lopes Mendes Beach is voted one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil. I love the picture and see that you have to walk to get there. Is there perhaps wheel chair access for those that can’t walk so far. How far is the nearest road to that beach.
Because it is so hard to access is probably what has kept it so beautiful and unspoit.
This is not going to be a beach accessible by wheel chair unfortunately. You can get a taxi boat out from Abroaa to Pousa and from there it’s a 15 minute walk through the jungle to get here. White sandy beaches and crystal blue water will greet you on arrival! Be prepared it gets quite busy but you can walk much further down the beach to get a quiet spot. They also have lifeguards working. They don’t have any facilities on the beach so make sure you pack a picnic and some refreshments.
Hey,
Your site is, as it were, an ode to Brazil, and rightly so! Many holidaymakers looking for a beach holiday can indulge themselves here! One would, as it were, immediately want to board the plane.
There is a wide range of the various coastal areas, well commented and provided with beautiful, idyllic photos and/or a video. Very nicely done!
With best regards,
I do cover a lot of other destinations 🙂 Just happen to be finishing up Brazil which has a LOT!

You are welcome Alketa, please let me know if I can help you plan your vacation. Thanks for visiting beach travel destinations.
The photos alone make a visit to beaches in Brazil so enticing. I live in the Caribbean so the beach is right there just a few miles away. What I like about these is the variety that is offered. Those rustic settings or the great expanse of sand and sea, and the facilities close to or on the beaches make them a place I am hoping to see soon. Thanks for the introduction.
You are very welcome, thanks for visiting beach travel destinations.
I have business to do in Brazil. But I also want to go to the beaches and spend some relaxing time over there. I have been reading about Copacabana Beach and I am impressed. I didn’t know that it had four kilometer stretch of beach. The incredible visuals are great for pictures. I am counting the days to do.
Oh I bet you are! Wish I had business in Brazil. It is wonderful for sure. I have family there, so I guess that is just as good of a reason to visit! Thanks for taking the time to leave me comments.
It looks like anybody who is planning a holiday in Brazil would have a hard time choosing which beach to go to. As it’s world famous, the Copacabana Beach is a must see. However, the less hectic Porto de Galinhas seems like a more peaceful place to spend the day. My favorite of the beaches listed here is the Baia dos Golfinhos, as it would be fun to watch the dolphins swimming by.
I think one day at Copacabana Beach is just right. I live on a crowded beach, so a more peaceful relaxed beach is definitely nice. You can get a little of everything in Brazil for sure. Thanks for stopping by.
I have never been to Brazil myself but have friends who have said: “It’s BEAUTIFUL”. I often sift through the travel sites with Brazil as my destination. One day!
I have written down the couple beaches that caught my eye and put them on the “Bucket List for Brazil!.
This was a great informative article.
Thank you:)
You are welcome Page. Please let me know when you head there and how amazing it was! Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Leahrae, You have put a lot of work into this website, showing the variety of beaches to suit anyone’s preference. From the popular beaches to the more secluded ones; the sandy ones to the ones just at the edge of the mountains. There are windy spots for surfers as well. When traveling opens up more, we will probably be doing more traveling as well. All the best!
Glad you enjoyed Carolyn, thanks for stopping by!
All of these beaches look absolutely amazing. I really like the mountainous look of them. The cities look like they are all built right on the edge of the mountains. The beaches look as nice as those I saw in Hawaii. My wife and I are looking for a place to go to celebrate our wedding anniversary, this may be perfect.
It would definitely be perfect Al 🙂 At least in my opinion. Thanks for visiting my Most Amazing Beaches in Brazil guide.
I do not see anything about the fishing do you have any thing on this? The web site is very easy to read and has a great amount of information about the sun tan and sand. I live in the panhandle of Florida so I can sure relate to this.
I live in Florida as well Walt 🙂 Only I’m in Clearwater. I try to focus more on beach activities, that are water sports related or the history of the town. If the area is big on fishing, then I generally will include it, like for example in Cabo San Lucas. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave me comments.
These beaches sound fabulous! I love the fact that many of them don’t have roads or towns near them. It’s always so peaceful on a quiet beach. I would love to take a hike through the jungle to get to Lopes Mendes Beach. Having said that, though, I think I would spend most of my time at Copacabana Beach. I love the hustle and bustle of people and shops!
If you love the hustle and bustle of people and shops, then Copacabana is definitely the beach for you 🙂 I am glad you enjoyed my Most Amazing Beaches in Brazil post.
Hi Leahrae, what a great post!
I’ve never been to Brazil but his post has put it on my bucket list! Have you been to many of these places yourself? Which place would you recommend for a romantic holiday? My partner and I are hoping to go away next year and Brazil just hit the top of our list!
Any of them would be great 🙂 I just think Spain in general is a great place for a romantic getaway. I have been to the southern most beaches as I have family there. I really need to go back! I am glad you enjoyed your visit to beach travel destinations. Thanks for stopping by.
Wow, these beaches are gorgeous!! Coming from a beach bum myself, lol. You inspired me with your post this morning. I love the turquoise blue colour and white sands and I’ve been deprived since Jan 2020 when I was last in Tulum, Mexico. I’ve never been to Brazil and it’s always been on my bucket list. Thank you again for the great share with your post.
You are very welcome Michael, I am glad you enjoyed 🙂
