The Best of Madeira Beach

The Best of Madeira Beach! Known for the sea-themed John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk, which serves up shops and eateries and a 1,100-foot boardwalk along the Intracoastal. At the Grouper Capital of the World, Madeira Beach, you won’t have any trouble finding sun, fun and delectable seafood.

This barrier island community is what you get when you cross an Old Florida fishing village with a lively beach town. Madeira Beach was named the No. 9 Beach in the U.S. by Tripadvisor for 2021. Known locally as “Mad Beach,” it’s where Florida’s largest grouper catch comes into dock. It’s also home to one of St. Pete/Clearwater’s biggest family attractions, John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk.

Relax, stroll or swim along the 2.5 miles of beautiful beaches, or check out Madeira Beach’s rocky southern point, a popular spot for shore fishing. Save a day or more to explore John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk, a waterfront complex with over 100 shops, restaurants and water recreation businesses. Here, you can catch a dolphin cruise or pirate-themed cruise, rent a boat or jet-ski, or even hop on a floating tiki bar. Madeira Beach Florida Weather – When to Visit

The best time to visit Madeira Beach is between October and December. During these months, you’ll find low humidity, fewer tourists and many holiday events to experience. However, October and November technically fall within the Atlantic hurricane season, and even though they are not peak hurricane months, you should be aware of the possibility of a storm developing. July, August and September’s frequent rainstorms and January, February and March’s high volume of snowbirds (retirees and part-time residents from the northern U.S.) make summer and winter two seasons to avoid. If viewing wildlife is your main objective, consider visiting in April, May or June when migratory birds, stingrays and sea turtles are commonly spotted. While the area is different every season, Madeira Beach benefits from warm weather year-round.

That’s interesting, looks like some place near the Equator, like the Caribbean or Australia. Just checked Google Maps and Florida’s not that far from the Caribbean. May be that’s why the weather is that mild.

I usually watch Nat Geo and most of what I see are brutal winters when I think of North America. I’ll excuse myself though, I’m over on a different continent!

Anyway that’s on a light note. That drone shot makes it look amazing though. Clean and nice warm weather. Must be a perfect place to soak in the sun and forget the rat race that is life for a while.

Traveling is such a beautiful thing. Your research has just made it even more appealing. You have made decision making kid of easy because we don’t have to go all over the internet to find the suitable hotel but it is also kind hard because most of what you have listed is beautiful and appealing. We appreciate your efforts.

Florida is a neighbor state for me and I have lots of friends and family throughout the state, which makes it a frequent travel destination. I really enjoy reading your posts about these destinations like Madeira Beach that highlight so many great ways to spend time at these beautiful beaches! It’s always great to have a few solid suggestions of where to have food, fun, and drinks at the end of a full day. Thank you so much!

When I get to the US I will make this beach a must see destination. The way I see it in your post and the video is it is not overcrowded and less superficial than some of he other beaches we see … its more family orientated. The parasailing looks like something I will enjoy and ofcourse all the seafood !

    Great informative post.

I often visited my local beaches here in Los Angeles and Orange country in the last year. Beaches are nice because there, you can be around people while relaxing, so long as they aren’t too crowded.

I thought you did a great job informing the public about each of the beaches with their unique attractions even going so far as informing what time of the year to come for the wildlife and when to avoid possible hurricane season.

You did a great job with the photos for each of the beaches.

Your use of the ads on the side was so thorough, offering suggestions on various hotels, parking, and shuttles to get around the airport.

It was a well organized invitation introducing the beaches, and then adding on the attractions afterwards, leaving links to see the menu and the dog garden is another nice feature.

Guest ratings and pictures for the hotels and Villas.

When I clicked on the hotel links, I didn’t really understand how to use the check in – out calendar.

Nevertheless, it was really a superb presentation on your part.

My opinion on this topic is that it is a very good one because we are nearing the summer months and with the economy doing much better than I expected, we should expect heavy tourism for the summer months.

Your work is first rate and I even book marked your high quality post.

Thanks so much Glenn for taking the time to leave me your well thought out comments.  I am glad you enjoyed reading and learning about Florida 🙂  I used to live near California and have been to many of the beaches.  I do seem to like Florida beaches, maybe I live here now and am a bit biased.

Unfortunately living in scotland in the united kingdom is the completely wrong side of the pond for being near these amazing places but hopefully some day soon i will be able to get accross there and visit. When Ido, Florida is most certainly on my list of places to visit, especially this place i  think.

Madeira beach looks like another fantastic beach destination. I love your description of Madeira as crossing an old Florida fishing village with a lively beach town. An wow, to have 1,100 meters of boardwalk, is amazing. To be rated the no. 9 beach in the USA by TripAdvisor, is no mean feat. After a fun day on the beach, I will end it with a sunset cruise, with many options to choose from.

Oh, this is really great recommendation for updating my itinerary when visiting Florida next year. I love that there is a vegetarian-friendly restaurant there! What is the nearest hotel near Sweet Sage Cafe? By the way, is the Treasure Island Sunset Sailing a family-friendly activity there? I will bring my nephews there too. Thanks

Yes, the sunset sailing cruise is for the entire family.  The DoubleTree by Hilton on North Redington Beach is going to be the closest to the Sweet Sage Cafe, and it’s pretty close.  You and your nephews will have a ball!

When I come to Florida, I will remember to go to Madeira beach area. It looks like a beautiful area and very social as well. I personally would like to try the pirate cruise. Maybe even turn it a pirate holiday. Saw you mentioned about the Pirate pub and grill.

I have gone once to Mad Beach. In my book, it’s a magnificent tourist destination. When I went, I didn’t have trouble finding the sun, have fun and enjoy delicious seafood. In fact, I had to much sun. At Madeira Beach, the sun, white sand beaches and emerald turquoise waters just invite you to swim and tan.

I love Madeira Beach!  I prefer it and Indian Rocks beach to Clearwater hands down.  Clearwater does have a ton of amenities plus lifeguards.  I am sure that is why it gets it’s #1 beach rating.  To me Madeira and Indian Rocks are way better.  Wonderful!
