    Awesome article!

One of my best friends is getting married next year, more precisely in September. She is looking for a nice place to spend her honeymoon, and I am helping her:) The moment I saw Costa Calma on the video, I totally fell in love with this place. I will share this article with my friend. I am sure she will love it too! Do you think September would be a good time to spend a honeymoon in Costa Calma? I mean, will the place be crowded at that period of the year?

Thank you for this beautiful post!

Hi! I really enjoyed reading your post. I am someone who loves searching for the best deals on flights, hotels, packages, etc. so I found it very interesting to know that there are better days and times to look. Do you think it’s always best to go with a package deal or does it mainly depend on where you are going?

    Reply
    1. Leahrae (Post author)

It really depends.  I always check a package deal, and then I price the cost separately.  I find that sometimes a package deal is better, for instance going to Vegas using a package deal is much better than separating it all out.  So yes, sometimes it can work either way.  Best bet is to shop around.  Thanks for reading!

Wow! Costa Calma sounds amazing! The temperature range is perfect. That’s what I like when I go on vacation. I don’t like it too cold or too hot, but warm enough to get into the water and relax on the beach.

I appreciate the way you organized your guide. You provided everything I need to plan a vacation here. I’ll definitely keep this in mind when I plan my next vacation.

How often do you travel to Costa Calma? What month would you recommend going?

    Thank you for this guide!

You are very welcome.  Sadly, I have visited just once, but it left a lasting impression.  Great place, great people and great beaches!  It really depends on what you want for weather, as to what month you go.  May thru August has the best weather all around, so during that time is when I would generally travel their.  I am glad you enjoyed reading about Costa Calma.  The Canary Islands have such wonderful beaches!

Hi, this is a place I haven’t been to yet, the closest place I have visited is the adjacent island of Gran Canaria. Some of these resort hotels look superb. I had a great time in Gran Canaria but one thing spoiled it. We were constantly harassed with Timeshare agents. Do you know if Costa Calma has this problem? I think Timeshare is quite old-hat these days so I’d imagine it might be okay.
    Best, Craig

    1. Leahrae (Post author)

No, you will not find this in Costa Calma. Mostly the time share agents are in Gran Canaria and some parts of Tenerife (if you are at the popular beaches where the Time shares are). You would find a lot more peace here. I know too well how they can ruin your peace and tranquility.

Beautiful! Costa Calma is the next destination in my plans. I do have a yachting business in Rhodes island Greece operating from May-Oct.

Usually after the season end’s me, friends, and colleagues take our sailing yachts (mine is a Jeanneau 51) and we travel around the Med.

Our plans for our next adventure when is to go out from Gibraltar and..as every “real sailor” out there, is to cross the Atlantic!

So, eventually when this plan will get set, our first destination after getting out of Gibraltar is to head for Gran Canaria and of course..we will be on the beach of Costa Calma 😉

So now that I discovered you website, I’ll make sure to save your url, because it will be Very useful for me and my team in the near future.

    Hello 🙂

Thanks for the great travel tips!! I am adding this to my bucket list for sure. When I was in Spain studying abroad, I wanted to visit the Canary Islands so bad for a tropical getaway! Do you know if Spanish is the main language here? Or is there also a native language on the island? I want to be able to put my Spanish skills to use! Thanks again!:)

You will love the Canary Islands. Yes, Spanish is the main language. You will find, however, German spoken in a lot of establishments as there is a huge German population in the Canary Islands and they own a lot of the businesses.

    One question:
Do resorts have all in 1 packages (travel, food, accommodation) or single packages?

    Reply
    1. Leahrae (Post author)

Yes, I would agree that you would not want to miss the 3 island cruise. Tenerife is another island definitely worth visiting and staying at. If you love seafood, you have to try the Octopus. It is abundant here, and so so wonderful! The resorts do have inclusive rates, but they do not include airfare or car rentals. Thanks for reading!

Hi, thanks for a wonderful overview of Costa Calma! It looks like a wonderful place to visit! Do you know if there are any bicycle or walking/hiking available in the area? Are there any good places to shop or check out the local scene? Historical areas? How long would you suggest a person should go for to take in all there is to do? Thanks so much for a very informative article!

    Reply
    1. Leahrae (Post author)

You are very welcome Kristi! Yes there are trails for biking, hiking/walking ranging from a 15 mile trail, all the way up to a 46 mile trail. You will not get bored with the trails. They are beautiful and abundant. In the heart of Costa Calma you will find unique shopping you can do, and with that you will find the local culture. There is also, a huge German culture here as well. There is really not a lot of historical sites right in Costa Calma, but I would not miss the Windmill Center in pretty much the middle of Fuerteventura Island. Personally, as I have been before for 3 weeks. I think that at least two weeks would allow you to explore the island of Fuerteventura and to visit some of the other islands while there. Thanks for reading about Costa Calma.
