Thanks for the thoughtful read! For a laid-back full beach day, I’d personally choose Bicentennial Park Beach. It has great space, beautiful views, and plenty of room to spread out without feeling crowded. It also has tons of options nearby if you want to switch things up. It’s the perfect blend of peaceful and active.
Daytona Beach looks like so much fun! I didn’t realize you could actually drive on the sand there—that sounds so unique compared to other Florida beaches. Do you think it’s better to go during the big events like the Daytona 500, or is it more enjoyable in the off-season when it’s quieter?
That’s one of the coolest things about Daytona—you really can drive right along the beach! Visiting during events like the Daytona 500 is definitely exciting, with so much energy, live entertainment, and things happening everywhere. On the other hand, if you prefer a more relaxed vibe, the off-season is perfect for enjoying the wide beaches, great restaurants, and shopping without the crowds. It really comes down to whether you want high-energy excitement or a laid-back beach escape.
Hi Leahrae,
Having been to Florida in the past, but not Daytona, (instead the Orlando/Disney World area) I know for a fact that there is plenty to do in the sunshine state.
You certainly provided an in-depth article that discussed so many destination locales around the Daytona area.
The Daytona 500 is held late next month – February. The NASCAR circuit also has a race at that famous track around the 4th of July holiday period.
I have a long-time friend, (although not as close as in the past) who has always been a huge NASCAR fan in the almost 30 years that I have known her. One of the tracks that she and her family have attended in the past, besides others all up and down the East Coast was at the Daytona 500′ several times I believe. I can never forget my sending her an email at the end of the 2001 race when Dale Earnhardt, (senior) was killed late in the race as a result of an accident. She actually did not catch the last part of that race and after reading my email and getting back to me she wrote how absolutely shocked she was at receiving that devastating news.
My friend stated that being at these races cannot be compared to just watching them on television as the sound of the 40 + cars roaring by at the beginning of each race is unimaginable. And VERY loud!
Of course you also took the time to highlight the many beaches around the Daytona area as, after all many people who visit Florida like to get some rays, particularly those located on the Atlantic Ocean or to the western side of the stage on the Gulf.
Thank you for writing such an informative article about the Daytona Florida area!
Jeff

Reading this post during another -15-degree January day in Canada is like a breath of fresh air!
I’m ready for my surf lesson!!
Ok Good! You will enjoy it! I would have to agree, the -15 degree weather sounds too cold for me! Come to the Florida Beaches!
Nice page. It sounds like a dream holiday with plenty to do. The useful information that you provided is really useful. It saves people the time from searching it themselves. We love Florida and have been a couple of times but we live in the UK so I can look and dream!
Dreaming is always good. Sometimes you just have to make those dreams come true 🙂 Good thing is that Florida is really pretty reasonable for travel expenses, more so than say California, and has a much more laid back unpretentious feel.
Okay, you make me want to leave for vacation right now! Thanks for all of the great tips and reviews. It’s awesome that you have so many suggestions for travel, restaurants, places to stay and things to do. Now I know where to come when I’m ready to take a vacation…your website. Thank you!
I love Thai food as well, so I know you will love the Zen Bistro. Daytona Beach is pretty amazing, besides having beautiful beaches, there are so many things to do. Thanks for visiting Beach Travel Destinations.
Wow, would love a Daytona Beach vacation. Heard so much about the place and your post has wet my appetite to come one day. Unfortunately I’m just a tad bit too far away.
Well, one day you will have to visit. Just put it on your bucket list 🙂 Daytona Beach is awesome!
Hey Leahrae,
I have been to Florida once before about 10 years ago. It was awesome, and I really didn’t want to go. I do recall the prices for food, hotels, etc. were pretty expensive, though. But, it is well worth it! I am actually planning another trip to Florida next winter, though. I do like how I can use my travel points with my credit cards which does reduce the prices to Daytona Beach.
However, I do have a question for you. How much should I budget for 7-10 days? It would really help me if you could answer this. Would really help me plan my budget for the trip.
Hi Garen, boy it really depends on a few things. Where are you flying from and what type of hotel would you want to stay in? I fly there from Dallas for as low as $56 round trip. I can get a hotel for about $109 a night. If you use FlipKey or Trip Advisor, you can rent a vacation rental by the week that has a kitchen and everything. This is generally what I do. Last time I did this, I spent $700 for a whole week and did a lot of cooking myself. You will love Daytona Beach. And actually Florida is a lot cheaper than a lot of other beach destinations.
Hey! Robbie O’Connell! I know him! Not really … but there are many men of that name in Ireland! Really great article here on the huge array of amenities available in Daytona and the surrounding areas. I’ve been to Florida a few times as I have family living there but never had the opportunity to visit Daytona. Unfortunately, my family have moved up to Tallahassee from Kissimmee so my reason to visit has lessened. However, we are hoping to bring the kids to Disney with their cousins over the next year or two. Maybe we’ll pop down, say in the Seabreeze, have a pint in Robbie’s and eat at Chucherias Hondurenas! Yum!
Great! You will enjoy and it is not that far to all the Disney attractions. Let me know if you need any further information and thanks for reading about Daytona Beach vacations!
Hey, great job. I assure you that when I will first travel to the US I will be checking out your site for info ! Keep up the good work ! Good luck !

Makes it so easy to have all this info in one spot!
Thanks so much!
Grace

I’ve had family and friends who have visited Daytona Beach and absolutely loved it! I’ve never tried surfing before so that would probably be my first thing to do. 🙂 Then follow a day at the beach up with some of the best Italian cuisine around, that sounds like my kind of vacation! Thanks for the informative article, this is now one of my top vacation spots.
I am glad you enjoyed learning about Daytona Beach. It really is a great place to visit. Thanks for reading!
You do put together an awesome site for the Florida vacationer!!! I love the detail you go into with all the hotels and the restaurants and sights to see. It can really make a potential vacationer feel easy about his or her choices in a vacation destination. Keep up the great work!!!
