Bringing a small mix works best—one active toy for older kids, one sensory toy for little ones, and a shared option like a Sandcastle Mold Kit or Bucket & Shovel Set. Pairing that with a Beach Toy Mesh Bag keeps everything visible and sand-free, while a Collapsible Beach Wagon makes hauling gear effortless. For toddlers, the Bubble Maker and Sand & Water Wheel Toy are perfect, while older kids love Frisbees, Kites, and Inflatable Beach Balls. If you share how many kids you have and their ages, I can recommend the best beach toys for families, plus lightweight packing ideas for easier beach days!

The Sand & Water Wheel Toy is a great pick for toddlers, and it holds up well as long as you rinse and dry it after beach days. Saltwater and sand can shorten the life of cheaper plastic, so choosing a durable, BPA-free design helps it last through the season. If you want toys that keep kids busy longer, sets like the Digging Tools Kit, Sandcastle Mold Kits, and Bubble Makers encourage creative play and movement. If you tell me your kids’ ages, I can suggest the best beach toys for toddlers, preschoolers, or bigger kids, plus a few packing tips to make beach days easier!

You are welcome Jessica. I know that my son is not little anymore, but he still takes the shovel and stuff to build his creative sand castles. I don’t think kids grow too old for this. Thanks for reading about the best beach toys.

Are these beach toys cheapest at Amazon or do you know if there are better deals elsewhere?

We plan on going on vacation in a few weeks to Maui and I am searching for things that will occupy the youngsters during our stay.

If you can verify these are the best deals going I will purchase a toy set.

We have gone through various iterations of beach toys, but these look like they could be a perfect option. Especially the Hello Kitty toys! (my daughter loves her). I’ve not seen the mesh bag item before. We actually have an old mesh laundry bag we’ve used to haul our beach toys around, but this looks perfect! Thanks so much for sharing….now if I could only find some Lego Bionicle beach stuff for my son 🙂

Hi, as my family was planning a beach vacation for the kds this month, your post was very helpful for me to choose some beach toys that would be easy to carry around and also fun to play with.
I especially liked those in the zipped bags. Hey come not only in a bag, but contain a lot of different toys.
    Thank you for the tip.
    Best regards.

Yes, that is the most popular choice. Everything you need for the best beach toys; buckets, shovels, toys all in an easy to carry bag for the kids. Heck, my son is 16 and loves to build sand castles so we always take these with us. Of course, I have to carry them…he doesn’t want to be seen associated with them until he is sandcastle building.

You’ve certainly got some great beach toys on the list.
We go to the beach quite a lot in the summer and I have found that the zipper bag with the plastic molds and buckets are great for entertainment for the kids.
Having a good shovel is a must and the ones big blue ones with the wooden handles are the best for digging those deep holes in the sand! I have one shovel and my kids fight over it.

I like the mesh bag idea. It’s great to get rid of all that sand. I think I will be adding that to the beach toys.

Yes, I agree 100%…the zipper bag full of the beach toys is the way to go. We have found that the shovels have not been super adequate…my son likes to dig big holes. He is rough on them….so we buy these a couple at a time and it’s perfect! And yes, the mesh beach bag is perfect for the toys. No sand…just toys. My son carries that bag and I carry the beach cooler bag 🙂 Works out well! Thanks for visiting my site!
