Saint Tropez has long been a hot spot for the international elite. Matisse once called it France’s “little nook of paradise”. Brigitte Bardot bought a house here and made it an international hot spot overnight. Celebrities from Picasso to Armani to Jay-Z to Leo Dicaprio to Bono, have flocked here for the Summer.
But, despite its fame, the famous seaside town, which used to be a fishing village, is full of unique French charm. It has tiny decorated cobblestone streets, peach-colored buildings, hidden plazas and beautiful vineyards. In the off-season, the village has only about 5,600 residents. But, in the summer, it attracts more than 80,000 visitors.
Saint Tropez Weather – When to Visit
If you’re going to St. Tropez for the beaches, then July and August are the best months to go. This is peak tourist season so the city will be crowded during the summer months. St. Tropez is definitely a charming place fit for regales and elites. Fortunately as of present, it’s beauty can easily be accessed by people who are fond of the Mediterranean waves. I would like to experience walking in all those perfect sandy beaches with all the locals and tourists parading everywhere. To be honest, Tahiti beach is what I look forward the most. I know there will be a lot of places to go at St. Tropez aside from all the beaches. I’m all interested into whatever kind of tour activity available. Thanks for sharing this!
You are welcome! Thanks for visiting my Port of Saint Tropez post.
Hi! I have been wanting to go to Pampelonne beach for a long time. I have been enchanted looking at pictures of members of my family walking its white sand beach. But I can stop dreaming now. Today I’ll be able to book a reservation for next year. I’m excited! I have also hear about all the celebs that go (and have gone) there: Bono, DiCaprio, Picasso…
Yes, you can definitely mingle with the celebrities. How great. Enjoy!
Thank you for this excellent introduction to Saint Tropez!
I like to take at least one major trip each year and Saint Tropez is on the list of places to hit.
That said, it’s only on the list because it’s one of those hot destinations. I really don’t know much about it.
You’ve provided a lot of information here. I can pretty much plan an itinerary just based off of this post, LOL. Restaurants are where I’d focus much of my time. When I travel, I want to experience amazing local food.
I happen to be an avid sailor. Do you know if there’s a boat rental operation there? Usually, I grab a large monohull or catamaran and that is my “hotel” as well.
Thanks again,
Scott
Sounds amazing Scott. I have not done the boat charter yet, but what a way to stay! If you go here, you’ll find a list of boats (sailboats, yachts) that you can charter. I want to know how your vacation goes 🙂
Hi Leahrae,
I’ve just read your article on the Port of St Tropez and I really enjoyed it. St Tropez looks lovely and I would love to go there some day. I have a couple of questions for you: which of the hotels would you recommend for children and do you know which airport would be best to land in from the UK? Thanks in advance, Andrew
Hi Andrew, I would stay at Chateau de la Messardiere with the family. They will have the right accommodations to make all your family comfortable and they will enjoy the pools. Doesn’t matter really where you are flying from, you will want to land in La Môle. This is Saint Tropez’s airport. Please let me know if you need any additional information.
port of saint lopez would really be awesome to explore. In the first instance, I like the setting and the appearance and outlay of this place. Seriously, it looks like a little paradise that is way beyond just anything I could use words to describe. It covers virtually anything and everything we can ever hope for from such a location as this place. Truly a beauty to stay in
I totally agree Shelley! Thanks for stopping by beach travel destinations.
Hi,
Thanks so much for your article on the Port of Saint Tropez. I really enjoyed reading it and learned a lot. Saint Tropez seems like a very beautiful place to travel to. I am not 100% sure yet where exactly I want to go, but I certainly want to visit Saint Tropez. This article gave me many insights into which places to go and which I don’t want to go to.
Keep up the great work!
Great I hope I persuaded you! You will love it in Saint Tropez. Especially if you enjoy beaches 🙂
Saint-tropex is yet another gorgeous place that I have never visited and I have to confess that I really would love to go there, you always make these destinations look so tempting and attractive, it makes deciding which one to go to first very difficult, I am only able to manage one holiday per year and this years is already booked, so next years looks like being Saint-tropex, thank you for showing this gorgeous destination.
You are welcome Russ. I think you will enjoy Saint Tropez for a vacation. I look forward to hearing where your next vacation is 🙂
Saint Tropez looks idyllic and looking at these pictures right now just makes me realise how much I need a holiday.
The Morea Beach Club would probably do for my hang out most of the day, but just so I don’t get too bored I would like to go on some of the excursions, like the one to the medieval town of Hyères or even the guided walking tour of Aix-en-Provence.
I will definitely be looking at your list of hotel recommendations for my next trip.
Great Michel. Yes, the Moorea Beach Club is a great beach club. You will enjoy. It does get crowded during peak season, but that makes it more fun! Thanks for visiting beach travel destinations.
Great article about the port of saint tropez! I have been there once but it was a working trip and I had very little time to focus on all of those great things available there. I would like to travel there again without any workload and visit those beach clubs and maybe some winerys as well. I don’t usually book travel packages with beforehand planned schedule so I like to choose the places I go and usually choosing something where most tourists do not go. However, bookmarked this for further use, thanks for sharing.
You are welcome Jesse. Yes, I am kind of the same way. I shy away from tour packages and like to do my own thing. But it is nice to plan ahead and know which places you definitely want to stop at. So I am glad you enjoyed my top picks. Sounds like a true vacation to Saint Tropez is in order!
