Treasure Island Weather – When to Visit

The best time to visit Treasure Island is from March to May, when the weather is comfortably hot and there’s a ton of outdoor events. You’ll find more affordable room rates from June to November, but there is the threat of hurricanes, and the weather can often be scorching. The temperature cools down significantly for the winter months. Treasure Island is great to visit year-round but it’s particularly pleasant in the springtime when the temperatures range from the lower 60s to the mid-80s. The increase in outdoor festivities and the blooming purple jacaranda trees make the visit worth it.  June to November is hurricane season and average temperatures in Treasure Island during these months range from the mid-60s to the high 80s. July and August are the hottest months and rainfall is most frequent in the month of August. Though the heat and threat of hurricanes may dissuade you, there are a few upsides to a trip at this time: bargain rates and plenty of events and festivals. It is a little chillier in the winter months with average temperatures in the mid-50s and mid-70s. The sun shines nonetheless and manatee sightings are frequent.

Wow, what a neat destination! I had no idea there was a place called Treasure Island with so many wonderful leisure travel options!! I love the idea of the glow in the dark tour, which is an experience you will not find just anywhere. Is it advised to reserve these activities in advance or would it be okay to walk in and take the tour?

I appreaciate your detailed highlight of the various weather  condition, the beach and community surrounding treasure island. With the weather condition being bearable between may and March. I think it is the best tone to visit  and enjoy the environment like you mentioned. I will like to see each beach especially Upham and its wooden dune leading to the white sandy beach

Hi and thanks for sharing this eyeopener, for me at least. We have always flown in and out of Tampa on our way further south to the Venice Beach area. Clearly, there are so many other great parts of Florida to explore and Treasure Island must be one of them. I particularly like the sound of these kayak tours that you mention. It sounds like winter would be the best season for us. The 50s to 70s degrees Fahrenheit still sounds fine to me. We should check it out. Thanks, Andy

I really enjoyed you’re content as I have only been to the Atlantic side of Florida, and I do love Florida but I do like what I see on the gulf side.

It is a bummer that you have to pay attention to Hurricanes and the bad part is as time goes on the Hurricanes are going to be more, active so the time at Florida beaches could get sporting to enjoy, so I would suggest if you want to check out beach’s in Florida, do it within the next couple years.

I know the beaches on the Atlantic side had supper clear waters supper with the beaches in Daytona, the sand was like white silt.

With your article it has driven my curiosity up to I want to experience west Florida, is there more white beaches on the west side of Florida, the only one I found white was Daytona fort Lauderdale had tiny gravel kinda beach although supper clear water I wasn’t pleased with Fort Lauderdale’s beach.

    Thank You

    Bill Wright

Big different between the west and the east coast is that the waters over here (west side) are warmer, they are clear, and we do not have to worry about hurricanes like on the east coast.  The pattern just seems to shift them other directions.  We do get stormy weather during hurricane season, which I am actually looking forward to as it is so dry now.  No, I prefer most any beach over here over Fort Lauderdale beach beach hands down.  Most of the beaches here are not crowded with the exception of Clearwater Beach, and St Pete Beach.  They do get the crowds.  Thanks for your visit and for taking the time to leave me comments.

I cant wait until everything gets back to some sort of normality again as regards to travel restrictions and so on. Then hopefully i might get a chance to get over there and visit this place

Treasure Island is another beautiful beach to discover in Florida. With so many lovely beaches to choose from, could one stay in one place, and explore all the beaches from one place? Or are they too far apart that it is better to stay 2 nights or so in each different one?

I grew up in Pretoria, South Africa, where the purple jacarandas are the most beautiful sight to see, so great to see that Treasure Island also has jacarandas. That alone would be worth the visit. Thanks for a great selection.

I live in Clearwater, and Treasure Island, the Redington communities, Belleair, Dunedin, Indian Rocks (I am sure I am missing a few) are all close.  I can drive down to one of the other beaches in a half hour or less.  So worth it.  So you can say in  one hotel and still be able to see a lot.  There a great trolley system that can take you to the different areas.  Definitely worth it and Treasure Island has a great laid back atmosphere.  Thanks for stopping by.

I really like that at Treasure Island, if we desire to walk on the beaches, we can do it at any time. Parking near the beach is not a problem after dusk. This is important to me because I would like to take picture by the seaside at different hours of the day. it’s good to point out that most beaches in Florida are off limits to vehicles.

Yes, most are off limits.  You’ll find more of them on the east coast like at Daytona Beach.  But I’ve never had a problem finding a parking spot.  Clearwater Beach is real busy all summer long, but I can usually find a spot somewhere.  Glad you enjoyed, and taking pictures of the sunsets over the ocean make beautiful pictures 🙂
