Okay, I’m packing my bags and heading out right now! The pictures look amazing and the descriptions are so clear. I just want to go there and relax right now. What would you say is the minimum budget for a couple going there for a romantic weekend? Going to look into this one.

    1. Leahrae

Well it really depends on where you are headed from, and what you want in a hotel price wise.  You can look up airfare for when you’d like to go and then choose a hotel, it will give you the cost.  Then I always budget $100 a day for food.  If you are just relaxing for a romantic getaway, you probably won’t do tours, if you would like to do a tour or two, click on my tours listed (more will show up) and you can see the pricing for those.

Thank you for this information which is given in lots of detail. I can dream of getting to some of these hotels and I will certainly add them to my list. As a single mum or 2 teenage girls, where would you recommend is a good, middle-of-the-road place if we couldn’t afford the ‘luxury’ prices?

Yes, if you look at the map at the very bottom, it shows all hotels at various prices.  From modest to luxury 🙂

Okay you have made it very tough for choosing between Faliraki Beach, Tsambika Beach and Kallithea Beach. Thankfully you pointed out that I can likely cover all three on a Romantika All-inclusive Day Cruise. The thought of sailing around the Med on a 72 footer has me mouth-watering.  I might have a fight however with my family though as my wife would prefer the Rhodes kayaking while my son certainly the Lindos speedboat tour. We would agree however that either the Elysium Resort or Lindos Mare would be right up our alley. Thank you again for a thorough review.

Rhodes is part of Greece!  South Africa…that made me chuckle 😀  It’s actually right off the coast of Turkey, but part of Greece.  Hope that answers your question good enough 🙂  Thanks for visiting beach travel destinations.

A friend has returned from Rhodes and was encouraging me to go. Among the “must-visit locations” he included Tsambika Beach and Anthony Quinn Beach. I will remember The old man and the sea when I go to this beach.

Thank you very much for dedicating a section to the weather. When planning our visit, we found this section helpful.

Rhodes, old town, seems like a place that would take you back into history much like a time machine. It being a Unesco World Heritage site just adds to the appeal. Now couple this with all the other attractions mentioned and you have an ideal holiday. With top notch beaches to visit, romantic day cruises and the very reasonable prices with exceptional quality and I ask why haven’t I discovered this before? This would be a perfect place for a honey moon.

Thanks for your review of Rhodes as one of the best places to visit in Greece. I’ve never been to Greece, but the pictures of the island and beaches are beautiful. I don’t like humidity and I don’t like rain. So if I were to go, it would be in June. Even July being the hottest month at 86 degrees is great so long as there’s no humidity. With sea temperatures at 73 degrees and above from June and November, this would be so enjoyable.  I’m glad beaches are well occupied but not crowded.  I’m a foodie, so good food is important to me when I travel.

I’m not big on fish. I’m more of a meat and potatoes girl. So, Masasoura restaurant sounds great.  The price is totally affordable, between 11 – 20 bucks. Who can go wrong with stuffed potatoes, feta cheese with honey, homemade pies and desserts?  Great review.

This old town in Europe looks beautiful. This would be a great vacation spot. You noted a lot of beaches with clear blue waters at every shore. Additional amenities such as speed boats and cruises would give you way more to do than just see the sites.

If the vacation was not limited in time would you recommend taking a cruise to Rhodes or fly over to Rhodes?

A cruise to Rhodes would be wonderful.  I would want to be able to spend time in Rhodes…not just a day.  Most cruises only stop for a day or part of a day.  Just depends on how much time you want to spend on Rhodes.
