Top 10 Best Luggage Brands

There are so many choices on the market today, so deciding between the best luggage brands can definitely be a challenge.  There are some considerations in recommending the best luggage brands, such as design, warranty, and quality of materials ( like the zippers, wheels, and handles). The best luggage brands should optimize interior space and offer sizes that meet the needs of the traveler and airline requirements.  Price should also be a consideration.  No matter what your budget, you can find a good set of luggage.  I have taken into consideration brands based on the value, as well as quality and design.  Here are my top 10 best luggage brands (and then some :), base on value as well as quality and design ($-Low Price Range, $$-Mid Price Range, $$$ High Price Range):

    Hi Lea,

Wow, what a nice list of luggage! I was looking for a luggage for my next trip to America this year. I need one with wheels so I can grab it with me everywhere. It is so much easier to have this for traveling. I really like the Samsonite, they look very strong and I’ve heard good things about this brand.I’ll take a look at this language on Amazon right now!

Thank you for this excellent post!

Personally i prefer to buy luggage carriers that are pocket friendly, strong, and still stylish, i see many brands here that can work for me and find this article very helpful. I also like that many of these brands have a life time warranty ,that crowns it for me, thank you for the good work because i now know exactly what to get when travel time comes.

I like your page and didn’t realize there is so many to choose from. I have a couple Moor that I’ve used for a couple trips but the family has grown and next time I take a trip I will have to get new ones. Its great that I will have your review when I’m ready to purchase a family size set of luggage.

I wish you would have focused a bit more on the low price range. The reason is since my husband is disabled, we don’t get to travel but about once every few years, but when we do, we hit at least 3 different locations. Is there a good brand of luggage that won’t get used much, but when it does, it has to be durable? Great info! I love to travel and wish we could do it more.

Yes, unfortunately if you want a good brand that will be durable, it is not going to be super cheap.  Any good luggage will cost a little bit extra than going to the local discount store.  But it will last a LOT longer.  Thanks for visiting Sue and taking the time to leave comments.

Do price ranges on all of these brands vary as a result of the size of the luggage that is being bought?

I’d definitely like to purchase a Samsonite or American Tourister bag because of its low cost, but would that mean I’d be purchasing their smallest size luggage bag?

Also, could you recommend a size that is best depending on how much a person travels?

Yes, the size does result in a lower price usually.  Most people find a 25 to 26″ luggage to be a good size to pretty much fit everything.  This size is usually reasonably priced as well.  This Samsonite 24″ is a great buy at $100 off the normal price, and being a hardside, it will last a long time.  This 28″ American Tourister is going to give you a little extra room, and is about the same price.  Still a great piece of luggage that will last.  Hope this helps Jessie.  Thanks for stopping by.

This time of the year, is one where my family and I, really look forward to.It’s special as it’s the first time that we are going to travel overseas. Fortunately though, we are going after the New Year and Christmas festivities. Anyway, we are in the market for a good luggage set for a family of family of four.

Your list is really helpful and made things so much easier for us.We most likely are going for the Samsonite range. However, we are not sure whether or not to go for the hard casing or soft casing one’s. What would you recommend?

    Which ones are more popular?

    Regards

Hi Roopesh, and thanks for visiting the Top 10 Best Luggage Brands.  In my opinion, the hardside is the way to go.  For one, your personal items inside are going to be protected more, and the luggage last longer and stays nice longer.  You can’t go wrong with the Samsonite.  Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

I believe that your article is going to come in handy when I do my traveling within the next few months, I have always been the type of person who wants to pack one suitcase with everything that includes toothbrush and all. Your luggage options are all really good which makes it hard for me to make a decision. Which among those luggage options do you have? Anyway, your article was a great read. Good job!

I’ve always loved the brand, American Tourister! Not only do they offer bright colors (I love bright colors) they also make high quality luggage bags that are well worth the investment! Some of the brands you mentioned I’ve never heard of before, but in the future, when I travel more (hopefully) I’ll need to purchase more luggage in order to bring more things with me! Thanks for taking the time to share these awesome luggage brands and thanks for giving me the travel bug again!

This is so great! My husband and I have luggage from when we got married 16 years ago! It was part of a wedding present. I mean, it’s done its job throughout the years, but it would be nice to upgrade. It wasn’t great luggage to begin with and now it’s getting all raggedy.

I don’t know a lot of these brands. Samsonite is one I know, of course. And Tumi is also one I hear about a lot. It looks like any of these will do a great job. If you had to choose one to go with, what would it be? I’m so bad at making decisions! haha

I prefer Samsonite when it comes to my bags, they can be a little pricey sometimes but the quality and styles speak for itself. I haven’t heard much of these other brands, so I can’t say much about them.

I do want to invest in a hard shelled suitcase but I haven’t been traveling anywhere recently sadly enough.

    Great post and good info.

In my opinion, Samsonite is the best one when iy comes to luggage, we have one for years now and there is a scratch on it yes, but really, you can do some many things with it, it won’t break.

The price isn’t cheap, but you pay for quality.

Also the space you have and the comfort is the best for our travels.

Thanks for sharing it with us!

Ps: I’m going to show this to a friend, he doesn’t believe in Samsonite so can choose one of the other ones you recommended.

Samsonite is good, and it really is at the lower end cost wise.  So if you look at other luggage, Samsonite is cheap 🙂  I love Delsey personally, I guess I like the designs and colors and the interior of the luggage.  Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment.

Thanks for the informative post about the top 10 best luggage brands in the industry! Kudos for stating quality, value and design as the main factors to be considered when deciding on which luggage brand to choose for the various future travel trips.

Kudos for writing short reviews about each of the top 10 luggage brands! I particularly preferred the first brand on the list for good quality at lower-to-mid-range prices and for including soft side and hard side luggage in a variety of bold colors and finishes.

Hi. My preferred luggage is Rimowa. Its particular material makes it very attractive and comfortable during the trip. However the other brands aree also very good brands. Usually people choose Samsonite, maybe from the style and fame, but my opinion is that the similar brands are just as good as this one. Nice article.

I have always wondered if the hard Samsonite were as good as the soft suitcases because I know some friends and family that swear by them. Big thing for me was I always assumed that they didnt expand but apparently they do by 1.5″ and being hard they would be heavy. The fact they are light weight and have spinner wheels is great when transporting them and moving around an airport.

I have back problems so these suitcases will be ideal for me. Thanks!

Whenever I am in need of luggage, I buy Samsonite.
I can’t remember when it started (maybe as a child…) but the name brand stuck.
The good thing for me is that Samsonite makes a good line of suitcases at a reasonable price. Glad to see it made your list. 🙂
It is worth spending the money on a good one and not cheapening out on a “no name”. I have seen so many new looking cheap suitcases duct taped or wrapped in plastic by their owners just hoping they can make one more trip. I’ve also seen a suitcase “blow open” when the cheap zipper fails (and that made for quite an embarrassing moment for the owner while waiting in line at an airport).

Yep, I agree! I buy Delsey, I just love the look of Delsey, and they have been a good quality for me. You are right, the no name brands don’t last, especially if you don’t have them as carry on. Any more the luggage is destroyed by the baggage handlers…like in some foreign countries it is just a given. So I do also like the hardside instead of the softside. Just seems to last longer. thanks for visiting the top 10 best luggage brands.
