I enjoy so much going to the beach. , although I did not experience any ocean until I was 35 years old, I lived too far inland for that, but now, I just love ocean beaches. I have never been to Italy but in reading your review and seeing Pictures and the excellence this place has to offer, I am totally impressed. I would love to explore all these beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean Sea as they are very beautiful and you have captivated my passion with such wonderful pictures. You have also demonstrated that there is world class accommodation and activities that would be enjoyed by all. Thank you for your review!

You are welcome!  I kind of enjoy beaches too…ocean beaches as you put it.  I used to live in the desert and would go to the lake, but nothing compares to the ocean.  Sicily is a wonderful choice!

It’s always good to know what places are recommended when seeking a getaway. My sister says my family and I live in aa ranch for being homebodies. Hopefully after this trip, she won’t. Thank you for your recommendations! I’m looking forward to a luxurious vacation. One needs some away time; you know what I mean? 🙂

How very beautiful are the beaches in Favignana, Sicily? This lovely little island looks like the perfect paradise for a romantic honeymoon or even to take the family sailing on a private yacht. There seem to be lots to do with mostly boat and wine tours, but sitting on the beach or sunbaking means a holiday to most people.

I like the look of the Poggiamico guest house as I like quaint and visiting the locals. A perfect summer holiday.

Favignana looks like an amazing island!

I like that there are diverse areas in terms of the landscape as there are all of the lovely beaches as well much more rugged cliff areas too.

In order to see as much of the island as possible, do you recommend staying in one hotel and then travelling around from there, or would it be better to perhaps book a second hotel in a different part of the island if you were staying there for say a 2 week vacation?

    Thanks

    John

You know John, that is probably a personal preference.  But for me, I would stay in a hotel for a week, and then travel to another area and stay in a hotel there.  That way you are close to everything you want to see and do 🙂  Hope that helps.  Thanks for stopping by beach travel destinations.

Hi there, Favignana looks like a really spectacular island and with some very unusual rock formations because of the wind. Would one normally travel to Favignana from main land Italy, or from Sicily?

Exploring the coastline around the islands by boat is a very special experience and is the best way to see all the hidden coves. So that would definitely be on my list of things to do. Thank you for sharing another beautiful beach destinations.

The easiest way to get to Favignana is from Trapani with Liberty Lines hydrofoil or with Siremar ferry. The hydrofoil drives to Favignana around 30-40 minutes and the ferry ride will take around 60 minutes.  And yes, visiting the hidden coves on a tour by boat is really a great experience.  I am glad you enjoyed your visit!

Favignana is an island to discover calmly, dedicating time to its most beautiful beaches and coves. I am excited because Favignana offers many kilometers of cycle paths. So I would get around it cycling. I have been told that the small village offers excellent restaurants and hotels, while the rest of the island offers an unforgettable natural beauty as I see in your pictures here. I am looking forward to this trip.

The Cala azzurra beach is the best of all.

I have stayed in this area before but this residence made me feel like I was staying somewhere even more beautiful. The calm, tranquillity, cleanliness and overall ambiance of this residence made me feel I was staying in 5 star luxury. The flat itself has a stupendous terrace and a very comfortable interior. The owners couldn’t have been nicer and were exceptionally attentive to our every need. The ability to walk to the beach without the need to drive by car made it a real holiday for us. And oh, what a beach. Crystal waters, clean, small, but perfectly formed. We so enjoyed this little haven that we didnt visit another beach the whole week we were there.
