Weather – When to Visit Sydney

Sydney enjoys a sunny climate with mild winters and warm summers, perfect for making the most of the outdoors. Plan ahead with this information on temperature and rainfall.  To dodge peak season (around Christmas, New Year, and early January), visit from late September to early December (Avg. 52 – 73°F) or February to April (Avg. 58 – 72°F). You’ll still enjoy sublime weather, but with fewer crowds. Sydney’s winter low season June thru August brings cooler days (Avg. 48 – 63°F) but hotter hotel deals.

What Should You Pack?

When figuring out what to pack for the beach, there are two tips to keep in mind. First, forgetting an item isn’t the end of the world. Unless you’re heading for a remote, deserted island, chances are you can find a store where you can pick up the extras. Second, don’t stress out over making a packing list when there’s a stress-free beach travel essentials list for you below:

  • Sunglasses and hats offer much-needed sunscreen and flip flops are perfect for navigating hot, sandy beaches. Go pack them now so you’re not kicking yourself later.
  • What about those little items that make beach visits so much more enjoyable? For a little extra comfort on your trip, make sure you pack: Lip balmsunscreenbug spray.
  • Beach toys and goggles are a must for kids. Building sandcastles and viewing the underwater wonders are perennial favorites.
  • Take a first-aid kit with you. Hopefully you’ll only have to worry about a few minor scrapes from seashells, but having your own kit handy is a good precaution.
  • Beach Bag – Your beach bag will likely contain a few of the items mentioned above. For a well-rounded bag, consider tossing in sunscreenlip balmbug sprayfirst-aid kit and water-proof baggies.
  • Beach Gear – No matter who’s supplying the gear, look to have the following items on hand: beach bagbeach chairsbeach towelsbeach umbrella or tentbeach cart and a cooler.
  • Remember: Don’t wait until you’re parched to drink. When you’re out in the heat and sun, it’s important to stay hydrated by drinking regularly. So take along a water bottle as well.

I have always wanted to visit australia and especially sydney because it has a lot of cool architecture and places to visit that are relaxing. The one thing I do not like about tropical locations such as australia is how many big bugs there are, I have heard stories of bugs and animals that may be detrimental. Are these problems with animals and would it be a nice place to live?

The moderate climate of Sydney keeps them from having a bug problem that you would need to worry about.  So not a problem.  As far as a nice place to live, I think it really depends on what you are looking for.  Personally, I would consider it a dream to live there.  With the beautiful scenery and the wonderful harbor, it would be such a wonderful place to be.  That is just me though 🙂  Thanks for visiting beach travel destinations.

I’ve always dreamt of visiting Australia and Sidney is my top destination in this country. Besides the Opera House and the cosmopolitan air of the city, I’m attracted by the Aboriginal Culture and Tradition. But the biggest dream of mine regarding Sidney is to celebrate New Year’s Eve in a bikini with a mojito! (I’m fed up with snow, woolen socks and tea! )Thanks for making me dream with eyes wide open, Laehrae!

Hi Leahrae, I must say that this article is very helpful and informative. Sydney is truly one of the most beautiful cities out there, I was there once and now I am working to save money for the summer to go there with my family. It is not so expensive but a plane ticket is a little overpriced in my opinion.

Oh my God your review was breathtaking. Talk about want to get away! I watched the video and the scenery was to live for. Great pictures and great detail put me right there. Australia is one of those places that I guess I never think about to take a vacation. Because it is kind of outta sight outta mind geographically speaking.

But what a nice niche place to take a vacation. Just for that reason. Thanks for the review.
