The Best of Pass-A-Grille Beach

The Best of Pass-A-Grille Beach! Pass-A-Grille is part of St. Pete Beach, and begins where Gulf Boulevard passes The Don CeSar. Here you’ll find the vibe of those groovy, Old Florida beaches. What you won’t find are high-rises, crowds or shopping malls. What you will find is four miles of undeveloped, public Gulf Coast beaches along Gulf Way wrapped around the end of the key to meet Boca Ciega Bay on the harbor side. Go on a shelling or snorkeling excursion to Shell Key, an uninhabited barrier island, or watch the dolphins play and enjoy gentle sea breezes on a sunset cruise. Head to Eighth Avenue to find small galleries, boutiques and restaurants, including the rooftop bar at Hurricane Seafood Restaurant, a famous place to savor a drink along with the area’s spectacular sunsets.

Pass-A-Grille Weather – When to Visit

The best time to visit Pass-A-Grille is from March to May, when the weather is comfortably hot and there’s a ton of outdoor events. You’ll find more affordable room rates from June to November, but there is the threat of hurricanes, and the weather can often be scorching. The temperature cools down significantly for the winter months. Treasure Island is great to visit year-round but it’s particularly pleasant in the springtime when the temperatures range from the lower 60s to the mid-80s. The increase in outdoor festivities and the blooming purple jacaranda trees make the visit worth it. June to November is hurricane season and average temperatures in Pass-A-Grille during these months range from the mid-60s to the high 80s. July and August are the hottest months and rainfall is most frequent in the month of August. Though the heat and threat of hurricanes may dissuade you, there are a few upsides to a trip at this time: bargain rates and plenty of events and festivals. It is a little chillier in the winter months with average temperatures in the mid-50s and mid-70s. The sun shines nonetheless and manatee sightings are frequent.

Beach Travel Destinations is a very informative site for tourists.  The detail is very relevant, this includes when to travel and spend time at the particular beaches so as to avoid hurricanes.  the hotel ratings are also very good, this shows that the place has loyal clients and quality service is provided.

The beach front looks beautiful with the grass thatched lounging areas.  It is truly beautiful.  I did not expect to find such detailed information like the beach gear, the sunglasses, swimwear, water proof cellphone covers, sunhats etc!  well thought.

This information about Pass-A-Grille Florida Hotels is good to know as I will be in Florida soon on business as well as visiting some friends. I am not familiar with St. Pete Beach so I appreciate your information. I like that a large part of it is undeveloped. I also enjoy good food and drink and there are plenty of options there. I also enjoy that there are tours and cruises available. This sounds like a great place to explore and spend some time. I love these beaches. I have spent most of my time on the Atlantic side of Floride and look forward to experiencing the Gulf side a bit more. Great info and I appreciate the share.

Ok, I’m biased I am sure.  But the gulf side is way better!  LOL  You will love it and it is exactly how you are picturing it.  Thanks for visiting beach travel destinations.

Love this website!  There is so much to explore, and captions draw in a compelling way so that I can see myself there. I’m looking forward to visiting the St Pete area, and will definitely stay a couple nights in Pass-A-Grille as well.  Looks like there are tons of great restaurants in the area besides all the beaches!  Can’t wait.  And loved the drone shot!

I do love beaches, though I’ve only witnessed the east side of Florida, I really like this Pass-a-grill beach, and I love the drone shots, and the wide beaches I was wondering if the hurricanes are as bad on the west side as they are on the east side. I love the topic it told me to go check west Florida out.

    Thank You,

No Bill, thankfully we do see the hurricanes on the east side.  We did have one in 2017, but that was the first one in over 100 years.  The pattern seems to shift them towards Texas or the Louisiana area.  You’ll love it over here on the west coast πŸ™‚

Hi, thank you for sharing this article with us. I love everything that is about the beaches especially in Florida. I’ve never been to Florida or the USA but I promise you when I will I’ll go straight to Florida Hotels. I have no idea that is such a beautiful and amazing place with a lot of restaurants and nice places to relax. Unfortunately I do not have any experience with this topic. Do you know if there is anywhere a hotel that accepts pets, pet friendly? Thank you for sharing I will definitely take it into consideration.

Pass-A-Grille beaches are lovely. My family has been on a short vacation to this side of the world in 2018, and I can tell you that it is one of the prettiest places we have been to. In fact, we have been planning on going back there again, and probably will stay in one of the lovely retreats that you have mentioned.

The sights and the eating places and the local crowd is awesome. You gotta try it, folks.

wow!  I got this incredibly professional sense while looking through your site.  Its amazing that you know so much about such a big place.  I’ve been to Florida a couple of times and honestly, I don’t remember what any of the beaches were called but I remember them all being beautiful.  Really well done.

Never been down there, but reading your article makes me want to jump on a plane and take in some of that sunshine. The restaurants don’t seem too pricey, so all things considered it looks like the place for an affordable break of about a week or so.

Thanks for your review, You covered a lot of territory.

How interesting! I have been visiting Florida for a long time but have never heard of the gem of Pass-A-Grille! My best friend lives in the Tampa / St Pete area, so I’m going to share this with her and see if it’s something we can do on my next visit. We’ll be able to stay at her place overnight, but I would really love to try some of the amazing restaurants and bars that you feature for a sunset dinner and drink!

Pass-a-Grille is super close to St Pete, so it would be an easy place to go to.  Tampa is probably about 30 to 45 minutes away, depending on traffic.  You will enjoy Aly.

I do not like high-rises, crowds and shopping malls when I go on holiday, so Pass-A-Grille sounds like a very good destination for me when it comes to Florida beaches. How long would you recommend as a minimum stay? Would Pass-A-Grille be good as a weekend break-away, or is that too short to do justice to the area and everything that is on offer?

    1. Leahrae (Post author)

Oh you could do a weekend get away there for sure.  And you’ll find everything you need as far as a great beach to sink your toes in and a good variety of restaurants.  Personally I would do at least 4 days to allow for travel πŸ™‚

Booking guided tours of Pass-a-Grille Beach are a must, based on my previous experience. And it should be done with some time in advance to reserve a good spot. I have a ton of picture and had a lot of fun. Now I want to go back with my family. I am excited about this trip.

I agree!  Book all tours in advance.  This area, actually from St Pete to Clearwater and up to Honeymoon Island get very busy and spring break lasts for a good 4 months here, with breakers coming from all over the world.  But it is great, and I do love it here!

I’d never heard of this place before finding this website, which I came across via an online search.

However, it looks beautiful and the sort of place you would want to visit, especially given that you have broken down everything making planning so easy!  I loved the restaurants listings with how much they are and the menu’s. Something to experience for sure.

Certainly looking at the hotel pictures, you are spoiled for sure, so choosing a hotel will be a tough decision.  I will look at the reviews for each and then decide. I enjoy reading your Pass A Grille guide. I have also shared the link with friends of ours who go to Florida a lot.

Sounds like you are sold on visiting Pass-A-Grille Florida.  There is so much in the area.  I live close and that is our go to place for a good nights dinner and relaxing at a beach that is not as crowded as Clearwater Beach.  I know you will enjoy!  Thanks for visiting beachtraveldestinations.com
