New Smyrna Beach Weather – When to Visit
The warmest time of year is generally early to mid August where highs are regularly around 91.4°F with temperatures rarely dropping below 74.9°F at night. The busiest month for tourism is February, March and June. Prices for hotels and flights will be most expensive during these months, though you can save if you purchase well in advance. November is the least busiest month to visit New Smyrna Beach. So visiting during this time will get you the best vacation deals.

Smyrna Dune Park
Smyrna Dune Park has 73 acres of pristine land at the northern tip of the New Smyrna Beach peninsula, the area is surrounded by water on three sides. Waters from the Indian River flow through Ponce Inlet and into the Atlantic Ocean providing a variety of fishing or swimming venues for park goers. This park is unique because pets are welcome. However, dogs must remain on a leash.
Flagler Avenue Beachfront Park
Flagler Avenue Beachfront Park is busy from sunrise and into the night. Amenities include a pavilion, a brick courtyard with new stainless steel railing, restrooms, showers and off-beach parking. The park is at the east end of Flagler Avenue.
Callalisa Beach Park
Callalisa Park is a popular launching spot for kayakers and canoers. Located on Callalisa Creek at the intersection of the South Causeway (Third Avenue) and Peninsula Drive, this small park is popular on the weekends. Fishing and picnicking are available.
Esther Street Beachfront Park
Esther Street Beachfront Park is one block north of Flagler Avenue on Atlantic Avenue, the park offers 45 spaces of off-beach parking. Amenities also include a playground, beach access, dune walkover, pavilions, restroom facilities and a volleyball area. Please note that the volleyball area is available only during the dry season.
Indian River Lagoon Park
This 90+ acre natural park is home to abundant wildlife. Park amenities include a pavilion with picnic tables and restroom facilities. There are two docks: one overlooks the estuaries to the Indian River and the other is a floating dock that overlooks Browns Bay. There also is a spot for canoes and kayaks to launch.
