    Hey Leahrae,
Its been a while since i’ve been to a beach and wow, this is really interesting for me, I feel like going to be beach already!

Everyone needs a quite getaway from time to time, at least once a month and Smyrna sounds fantastic! Just a question though, are there any sharks we should be wary of in that area?

    Reply
    1. Leahrae (Post author)

There are sharks, but they are always vigilant of keeping a watch out for them and close the beach when there are sightings. I think you can feel 100% safe at the beach and in the waters of New Smyrna Beach.

This looks fantastic, been looking for a destination that isn’t full of “young ens” is this more of a grown up destination.

What would be your number one thing to do out there and is good for couples as me and the misses are looking for somewhere this summer she wants to go Greece

Wow Greece is pretty amazing for sure. No, it’s not full of “young ens,” heck I am in my fifties and I go! You would have a lot of fun for a fraction of the cost to go to Greece.

I can remember visiting New Smyrna when is was still a little tyke, beautiful area. I love how you list all the different things there are to do there. Especially when you break down some of the different places to eat, kind of puts my in the mood for some seafood! By the looks of things, The Hideout would have to be my top pick!

Wow, you really did some good research in the Nightlife and places to eat departments! Well done. It looks like I’ll have to tell my New York friends of great new place to explore when they are in Florida.

Are there any times you would recommend not going there? For example are there any big events that a family may not want to be there?

    Hi Lea,

The beach looks beautiful in the picture. I am sure it looks the same in reality:) I love beaches, but my problem is that I don’t have the patience to lay down and suck up the sun the whole day. I need to do stuff, like visiting sites, or doing some shopping, drink or eat something at a restaurant and then when I get tired I am ready to enjoy the beach. Yes, I am a bit hipper active:)
It seems that there are a lot to do around Smyrna beach and this would be perfect for a family vacation.
Just a quick question, please. What is the best way to get to Florida from Europe?
Thank you very much for this excellent post!

I think the best (cheapest) is going to be Icelandair, depending on what part of Europe you are flying from. There is always KLM and Lufthansa as well. And there is LOTS to do at New Smyrna Beach 🙂

Hi, thank you for sharing this information.
It seems like a very nice place.
Do you have any idea what is the best airline route to travel from Kuala Lumpur to this place?

Is it costly to book and stay at hotel near to the beach?
and is it a place that is family friendly?

    Reply
    1. Leahrae (Post author)

No, it is not costly at all to stay at the beach and it is very family friendly. I’d have to say JAL or United are the best airlines. Thanks for reading!

Ahh, New Smyrna. I’m familiar with it from my time in the motorsports industry. Every year, a whole host of Canadian race teams would come down to New Smyrna in the winter to get in some racing ahead of Speedweeks at Daytona. So anyone who is a race fan will love it there too!

I really enjoyed the post, and love your site, especially right now, in a cold Canadian January!

I also checked out your Airfare tips and they are really great! I learned about finding flights for more than one person and how you can save by doing it separately. I also learned that booking sites track you and change the prices, as well as the cheapest days to fly.
    Thanks a lot!
