Great US Beach Destinations

Great US Beach destinations, Miami Beach, Atlantic City, Laguna Beach

The United States is the third-largest country in the world when measured by land area. Its enormous size offers an incredibly broad range of different climates and scenery, from the deserts of Nevada to the subtropical climates of Florida, and from the warmth of California to the cold winters of Minnesota.

This means that Americans can experience a whole range of different types of destination, without having to travel abroad. While in Europe, millions of people must travel to other countries to visit a beach, Americans don’t need to worry about getting their passport checked or exchanging their money.

So if you’re looking for a great beach destination in the US, then check out some of these options below.

Miami

Aptly known as “The Sunshine State”, Florida is a popular destination for many tourists across the country and the rest of the world. Miami is the state’s second-biggest and most visited city with a beach.

There are a lot of reasons to visit Miami aside from its great beaches. It’s the home of the Miami Dolphins and, while they don’t have great NFL betting odds, watching a game at the Hard Rock Stadium is still a great experience.

There is also plenty of beautiful scenery to admire, including the palm trees and other greenery at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, the impressive symmetry at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, and the wild Everglades National Park.

Back to the sand and there are 15 beaches in Miami, each offering something slightly different. If you want to play volleyball or do some outdoor exercise, the Lummus Park Beach is a great choice. Its beautiful white sand is sandwiched between the blue ocean on one side and the famous Ocean Drive on the other.

South Pointe Park Pier is a quieter area that includes a fishing pier and great amenities, including picnic areas and showers. It offers beautiful views of the ocean, the city, and the nearby Fisher Island and Biscayne Bay.

Alternatively, if you want to escape the city altogether, the Surfside might be for you. Located north of Miami Beach, Surfside feels like a small beach town. It’s a popular destination among locals as it offers live music, a water park, and a great selection of nearby bars and restaurants.

Atlantic City

Built on the coast of New Jersey, Atlantic City has become the country’s second gaming city with some of the biggest and most famous casino resorts outside of Las Vegas. While Nevada retains the betting crown, Atlantic City offers up something different – the beach.

While Las Vegas is surrounded by sand, the only place to go for a swim is in an artificial pool at one of the city’s hotels. However, in Atlantic City, you can enjoy the natural current and seawater of the Atlantic Ocean.

There are several beaches along the coast, from the strangely named Chicken Bone Beach to the main Atlantic City Beach. The famous Boardwalk is a popular attraction among locals and visitors, particularly thanks to its saltwater taffy vendors

Great US Beach destinations, Miami Beach, Atlantic City, Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach

California is one of the USA’s most visited states, with many famous cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego within its borders. LA is a popular beach destination, with its famous Venice Beach, Malibu Beach, and Santa Monica State Beach all available.

Situated between Los Angeles and San Diego, Laguna Beach’s Main Beach is a popular destination for sunbathers, surfers, swimmers, and wildlife watchers. It offers a range of great facilities for beach goers including basketball and volleyball courts, a surfboard shop, and a scenic boardwalk.

Away from the beach, you’ll find plenty of things to do as well, like the Laguna Art Museum which is great for lovers of contemporary art.

If you’re looking for something a bit more secluded, then check out Shaw’s Cove, which is a little further out from the city. It’s frequented mostly by locals, so you won’t see huge crowds like at other nearby beaches.

Finally you did beach destination locally for me. This covid-19 thing has been a challenge because of my work. I have to say that I am not that far away from Atlantic city because I live in NYC so it is just a drive away but the view is not like Miami beach though. It is just a coast and it is always pack with people. You can only stay in the board walk as well, outside is kind of scary.

Anyways, I have never been to Laguna beach. I am going to check it out.

    Hi 😊

So happy to see another incredible instalment of beautiful beaches; thanks!

So it was fortuitous that the states united and created a haven for Nature lovers!

Miami beach (oops, even my smartphone knows it and leads the typing!) is probably the most world famous. But let me make a pick of where I would want to go, should I eventually be able to visit this the only continent that I have never been to. And let me avoid fame, because sometimes that’s not the best criterion. I am picking LAGUNA BEACH (my smartphone doesn’t lead me this time around!) The reason is that if I were to choose one place to visit in the US, it would have to be California. I was born in “Qacha’s Nek”, a small town in Africa that is the apparently the only place in Africa that has (or had 😢) the famous California Redwood trees.

It would be an absolute treat to visit Laguna Beach and the rest of California!

I think Miami Beaches are beautiful. However, I feel that the beaches in the panhandle of Florida seem to offer more attractive and less crowded beaches. Have you ever been to Destin or Pensacola Beach? I enjoyed your descriptions of the other beaches and I will put them on my bucket list for future travel. Atlantic City and Laguana Beach would be my first two stops. Thanks for the information.

I live in Florida, so yes I have been to both.  I personally think Destin (the drive between beaches) is horrendous!  Don’t get me wrong, beautiful beaches, I just hate the traffic.  Pensacola Beach is nice and traffic is much better.  I live on Clearwater Beach and Spring Break (lasting 3 to 4 months!) also sees awful traffic.  But gotta love them Florida beaches!  Thanks for visiting Chuck.

The beach is a very fun place to be. The breathtaking views , about nature, that one gets to see is just so amazing. Well, since not everything in this life is the same, some beaches are greater than other beaches. From what is being described in this article about the forementioned beaches, it won’t be bad to say they actually great beach destinations in the US.
