    Hello,
thank you for publishing a great article about the best beaches. If I would have a opportunity to visit a great beach I would definitely consider Los Cristiano beach because Los Cristianos is a great resort area if you are looking for fine beaches and tranquil turquoise waters on the coast of Tenerife. Thanks for sharing

I would agree with you. This was my favorite beach when I was there. I like to have everything available to me and you get that with Los Cristianos.

    Hi Leahrae,
I really like to spend my vacations at beach sides. You have put some very interesting information in this page. My eyes immediately catches the image of Lago Martiánez beach. Looking forward to go there someday. And I’ll definitely make sure to pay a vist to your site whenever I’m deciding vacation locations.

Good luck! Keep up the good work!!

Hi Mattysmom! I love this article as an ice storm is coming down around me this morning. I had never thought about this region or these beaches before. They look amazing and much warmer for me at the moment. I can’t imagine how expensive a trip to this paradise is versus the cost for a trip to the Baja California region. Probably out of my price range unfortunately. I’m sure there are probably some great deals out there, however, and I will have to look into them!

I have been to Tenerife, and the airline tickets are a bit spendy. Cabo and the Baja California are much cheaper as far as that goes. But once you get there, you will find the costs to be cheaper. Food, restaurants, etc are cheaper in the Canary Islands. The price of everything has went up in Cabo, and it’s all spendy there.

Hi Leahrae, we are planning our holiday for 2017 and it all looks so lovely and relaxing – just what we need. We are both in our 40s and like quiet spaces to read and write. My wife also likes to visit local markets. We both like mountaintop sunsets! Are there any resorts you would suggest so we get all the things I mentioned? Thanks, Steve

Well, you won’t find any on a mountain top. The mountain on the island is an active volcano. The Regency Country Club is in the country a bit with beautiful views. I would recommend it for you. You will get most of what you want at this resort. Please let me know if you need any further information.

This makes me miss the beach so much. All these beaches sound great. There is a lot to choose from and something for everyone. I prefer the quiet, less crowded beaches. Lago Martianez sounds really cool but you said it brings in the crowds. I’m not really into the nightlife anymore. Perhaps Playa del Duque or Playa San Marcos are the beaches for me. Great information. I was wondering, how big is Tenerife?

It has 785 square miles and is the biggest of the Canary Islands. It also has the most coastline, hence the most beautiful beaches 🙂 Yea, I don’t really like too much night life anymore either. Thanks for visiting!

I love to travel and go to beaches, and when I read your post, it shows me how much more I need to see. Some beaches you talk about for the Tenerife in Spain drives home the fact I have so much more to see.

Knowing I will not have the time to check most of them out, going to the areas that feature the black sandy beaches is where I need to concentrate one of my visits to.

Great post to get me thinking of where to consider taking one of my future trips.

Thank you Travis! I loved the Canary Islands. I was in Tenerife and it is so diverse, from driving to the volcano and seeing snow, and then back to the beaches. Awesome!

Ahh, I just got back form Hawaii! Feeling a little beach sick (like homesick but for beaches) and these awesome beaches aren’t helping. I found the video helpful and actually quite motivating. Thank you for outlining and clearly explaining Tenerife for me. I haven’t been but feel like when I can afford to go it will be easy–I’ll be bookmarking this site.

What an interesting article! I’ve never heard of Tenerife islands in Spain. Although, by the looks of it, it seems to be the paradise I’ve been looking for all my life 🙂 I was wondering, since the beaches here look magnificent, how do you think or know the fishing to be? I’m a huge fisherman and would be really interested in your help about this area.

    -Thanks

You’ll want to go to Los Cristianos, Arona, Tenerife. It was once a small fishing town, but has since grown. You can catch a variety of fish to include bottom feeding Flatfish, Snappers, Morays, Amberjacks, and Mackerel, Boga, Herring, Snapper, Sea Bream, Amberjacks, Sea Perch, and Trigger fish. There is a HUGE variety. Plus you can go out for shark, rays, and blue marlin. You’ll have a fantastic time here if you are a fisherman!

The sandy beaches there are a hidden gem that I must explore. These destinations are definitely going on my bucket list, especially during the cold winter months.

Florida is my favorite and I’d been to Miami and I really want to go back! I want to move to Florida next year, I’m thinking I’ll move close to Tampa FL, Miami is only 4 hours away so its not that bad. Clearwater is beautiful too! Great site and I’ll be heading back here again!

    Hi,

I’m not much a beach person but these places look like great places to visit. I think I would love to have a picnic at one of these beaches. Being so close to the sea, I’m assuming the seafood in the restaurants there is very fresh?

I haven’t had the chance to visit too many beaches around the world, although I have been to the beaches of Florida and North Carolina and they were nice. My lifetime goal is to explore the northern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, visiting the beaches and eating great food.
Thank you for this information, I have bookmarked this for future reference.

    Leahrae,
This must be a favorite place for the European people to vacation. How do you have to get there from the United States or Canada? Do you have to go somewhere else or can you go direct. How big is the island, I spent a couple years on Guam it is not very big, but the water is the deepest blue I have ever been in. I bet there is a lot of resort places also near the beaches. Thanks for the information as I would need a child friendly and with a lot of activities for my crew.

It is a favorite place for Europeans. My aunt and uncle (from Germany) are “snow bunnies” and now live there full time. The signs in the area where she lives are all in German and Spanish. The island seemed pretty small to me and it is about 2000 sq. kilometers. I can fly direct from DFW and I have flown out of Anchorage, stopping in Madrid. It is a really neat place as you can lay in the sun, and then drive to the volcano, Mt. Teide, and I saw it snowing up there! Very Cool.

I’ve been to Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, great places to have loooong walks along the beach. I love that.
Tenerife seems to offer plenty of that as well.

I read your comment about the cleanliness of the beaches here. Yes, we’re indeed the clean kind usually. Who wants to wade around in a big pile of junk someone left there the other day? Of course there are exceptions but let’s not go there. Literally.

I love the little video you found about Tenerife. Thank you for sharing. 🙂 I might go there on my next sunshine vacation!

Wow, those beaches look fantastic and the waves inviting and that’s coming from someone who lives in Hawaii.

It’s my dream to one day travel across Europe and now this area of Spain would seem like a perfect place to visit.

I just had one question. What did you mean by “…beaches…meet the European standards when it comes to cleanliness?” Thank you!

    Reply
    1. Leahrae (Post author)

Europeans are typically very clean and hold strict standards when it come to cleanliness. Everything is kept first class. Let’s say, no comparison to some of the beaches of Cabo that the locals visit. They tend to have some….well less than clean areas.

Wow, there are some incredible beaches in the Tenerife area of Spain. I would love to go to Playa del Duque the most out of the bunch (when I get to travel to Spain that is). I haven’t been anywhere outside Canada and the US. Do you have any out of the bunch that you would recommend the most for a first time visit out of them all?

Definitely Playa de Las Américas. It is a must when you visit. Tenerife is a great place and also has lots of Germans living there…the reason I went 🙂
