Andros Weather – When to Visit

Temperatures in Andros are mild all year long, even in the mountains, due to the proximity of the sea. Even in the summer, the weather stays cool with the meltemi winds blowing from the north. In the western part of Andros (from Gavrio to Steno), the temperatures are warmer as the winds are less strong than in the east.

Andros has the highest levels of rainfall of all the Cyclades, but in summer rain will rarely occur. Snow can be spotted on the mountains in January and February. The best time to visit Andros is in the spring and Easter time. You'll have the best weather and avoid the touristy summer rush. During the week it will be less crowded than on weekends since a lot of Athenians visit Andros on the weekends.

Your Andros Travel Guide is great. I’ve always wanted to go to the Cyclades, but there are quite a few islands to chose from.  I love that Andros has lush vegetation, mountains, beaches, and quaint villages. And Andros would be a great destination for a getaway near Athens. We will plan to visit after lockdown in my country due to corona virus.

I do believe you will love Andros.  Yes, we are no longer in lockdown, but the threat still lingers over our state and we do have a huge amount of cases.  Makes travel kind of scary right now for sure.  But I have my vacation plans at hand when all this pandemic is behind us.  Thanks for stopping by.

I would love to just hang out by the beach and enjoy the Mediterranean food. Thank you for the itinerary, this will definitely be my destination since spring is here and it is not so far to fly from NYC.

Oh wow! How incredibly beautiful. I am definitely adding the Andros islands to my bucket list. I’ve always wanted to visit Greece but never sure of where in Greece I should aim for. I’ve traveled a lot and am well overdue for another European trip. I saw on the video there appeared to be some cruise ships, which is a preferred mode of travel for me and my husband. The colorful homes and cobblestone streets are reminiscent of my trip to Croatia a few years ago. Such great information you’ve provided. Thank you!
