I am not so much a fan of Port Antonio town but the area of Portland is my favourite as it’s so beautiful and peaceful. I always stay longer in the part of the island as it’s so wonderful to come from a big city like a London to this peaceful paradise.

We didn't spend a lot of time in the town of Port Antonio, but did have a delicious fish and lobster dinner at Roots 21. We mostly went to the beaches near fairy hill and Zion hill. Taxis are plentiful but we chose to use Polish Princess charter service as it was raining and or dark when we went out for dinner.

The main problem being in port Antonio is transportation if you are not driving. because it is not a tourist area like montego Bay or Negill, you may have difficulty reaching there or when you are Leaving!! I have been here about six times now And that is the biggest problem. There are great restaurants here with great food food along the area near Boston beach. Even though the jerk centers are not always that greatest according to reputation. the jerk restaurant right at the Boston beach Guest house entrance was excellent also also Rocky's fried chicken was good. I don't recall the names of a few of the other restaurants!!

Port Antonio is very charming place to visit in Jamaica.
Port Antonio is very charming place to visit in Jamaica. The town itself is very lively, and the surrounding area has lots of outdoor attractions do including, Frenchmans, cove, blue Lagoon, horseback riding, and more.
Be aware, however, that the roads are rough! There was construction going on as of late November 2023 when we visited. So we were stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic at one point while they closed the road. There is only one main road and one lane each direction so getting around takes some time, even tough the distance between attractions may seem short.
Also have your wits about you when interacting with street vendors, they may overcharge you. So ask for prices upfront and calculate your total before handing over any cash. We got ripped off and wound up paying $1,000 JMD for a fritter, Callaloo and breadfruit but it was our fault for not double checking the total.

I love the parish of Portland and always enjoy being in Port Antonio. Decent, kind, welcoming people and the many attractions to visit and beaches to visit.
I am just hoping they fix the roads sooner than later.

Lovely authentic town but not for the faint hearted travellers. You need to go with the flow and chat to the locals! The harbour area is pretty but the town is 'real', nothing touristy about it, which we love but it's not for everyone.
The beaches nearby are amazing but the road to get to them is largely unmade which makes the journey very slow! Overtime you can see they are improving it but I can't imagine it will be done in 2023.
This was very peaceful, quiet, relaxing. I needed it because my holiday was to attend my Dads funeral. I’m so glad I picked this hotel. On a daily basis you could hear beautiful nature,ie, frogs/birds and this added to its wow factor. I loved the food and the chef Andre cooked what I requested so I had Jamaican food daily. It was finger licking good. The hominy porridge took me back to childhood and the meals he prepared for my son and I were of a high standard. I give 10 out of 10 for the food he cooked. He’s an asset to this hotel.
It was my birthday and the owner treated me so kindly. Gave me suggestions of places in the area. Breakfast is included so the following morning when I got up to go to the beach for an early morning swim, upon opening my door, the table on the veranda was set with items for tea and coffee. I'm talking at 7am! It was already set up! It was a pleasure staying here and as long as there's vacancies I will be coming back.
The staff did a great job in making guests feel welcome. The view, breakfast and the room were just what I wanted but never expected. I suppose I had no idea what I wanted until I got it, and it was perfect. Great staff! Monique, TJ, TK.... the chef. I think Holiday Inn Montego Bay needs to go sit in class, take notes and learn from this hotel. I have found a vacation spot; I am going back, and I am recommending it.
The property was just as expected. It represented great value for money, the views of the Caribbean Sea were breathtaking and peaceful. The staff was helpful and accommodating! Breakfast was delicious! The property is also pretty close to some of the best attractions Portland has to offer including the Blue Lagoon and Frenchman’s Cove Beach. I stayed only for two nights but I will definitely go back!
We were welcomed by the staff on arrival and treated with love and respect. The food was so tasty we didn't want to eat anywhere else. The property is amazingly peaceful and a short walk to the river or beach. Highly recommend as a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of life. The staff was my favorite part, they were attentive, kind, and went out of the way to make our stay unforgettable.
Great location to visit Frenchmen’s cove, the blue lagoon and even Boston beach and reach falls are not too far away. They have nice private drivers to take you there.
The beds are so comfortable and the showers are great.
Moreover, the staff tries to help with everything.
I like the beach very much, the grounds and the river. The grounds are immaculate, very clean. Fortunately, because I was registered for accommodation, I could drive to the beach. I didn't know the property was so big and the facilities far apart.
really beautiful hotel, Ameika, the receptionist was the best and the nicest member of staff. they’d be lost with out her!!
owner wanted to charge me for 4 teabags!! a bit mean, so left a bad taste in my mouth. Everything else was fine.
Brian was fun and interesting. He helped us acclimate to Jamaica and gave person assistance. He's a great cook. I liked being right next to the beach and although I had some particular requests we proceeded without exception.
Great place! Definitely gonna stay here next time im in Jamaica. It's near many beaches twenty minutes from town and has some restaurants near by. Stefano is also an amazing host and human being!
Good location to walk to Winnifred Beach or catch route taxi to other locations. I liked Boston Beach. Close to shops and places to eat. Great kitchen access. Immaculately clean.
Very friendly owner. Always helpful. Very clean room. Comfortable bed. Short walk to everything in Port Antonio. All we needed for our 5 day home. Highly recommend staying here!
the apartment well located walking distance to Port Antonio, very modern, very clean, fantastic facilities. Staff very helpful. Would definitely go back again.
Location is good. Close to all the nice things to do and see. (Go rafting on Rio Grande and take the long tour!)
Food was good, took forever but was nice.
