After many months of pursuing your career goals, you owe it to yourself to relax and unwind, which can work wonders for your mental health. Those who want to experience a superb package vacation should, therefore, look no further than a cruise ship, as it can offer exceptional accommodation, delicious food, and unmissable entertainment. Not to mention, you can enjoy exciting shore excursions that will allow you to visit different corners of the globe. If this sounds exciting, here are the five best cruise ship vacations that are worthy of your consideration.

Cunard Queen Mary 2

If you want to set sail on a stunning ship that offers luxurious accommodation and exquisite dining experiences, you would be silly to overlook the Cunard Queen Mary 2, which boards at Southampton, England, and travels to New York City, USA. It is an ideal voyage for those who want to embark on a relaxing vacation with their other half and children, as it offers fun onboard activities, family-friendly entertainment, and an indulgent Canyon Ranch Spa Club.

Plus, as the 1,132-foot liner welcomes 2,691 guests, there will be plenty of opportunities to mix with like minded travelers. It is also one of the most elegant casino cruise ships in the world, as it offers a wide variety of slot machines, table games, and video poker, which could easily rival the mesmerizing casinos you would find in Las Vegas.

Celebrity Cruises

There is bound to be a Celebrity Cruise to complement your taste and budget, as you can choose from more than 300 exotic locations spread out across seven continents. There is also a liner size to match your needs, as you can travel on the mini Celebrity Xpedition cruise that accommodates 100 passengers, or you could board the larger Celebrity Silhouette that welcomes 2,886 passengers aboard the ship.

You will not only fall deeply in love with the timeless interior, but you can guarantee to get VIP treatment during your stay, as Celebrity Cruises is committed to providing an exceptional customer experience. You also don’t need to worry about feeling bored during the journey from one destination to another, as you can enjoy a wide array of on-board activities, such as wine workshops, dance lessons, and spa treatments.

Norwegian Cruise Line

If you would like to embrace a fun, relaxed atmosphere on your next vacation, you would be smart to step aboard a Norwegian Cruise Line. The liner is well-regarded for its laid back attitude, as it features no dress code or strict dining times. You also can choose from 17 ships that will sail to different destinations across the globe, such as South America, the Caribbean, Asia, Europe, and more.

The family-friendly cruise ship will also provide many activities to occupy your little ones’ time, such as live shows, water parks, and varied kids’ programs. There are also dishes to suit every palate, as you could one day visit a French-style bistro and the next day dine at a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant.

The ships are rather large, too, as they can accommodate between 1,936 to 4,266 passengers. However, you don’t need to worry about overcrowding impacting customer service, as they endeavor to provide one staff member for every two to three passengers.

Princess Cruises

If you want to enjoy a more grown-up vacation to spend quality time with your other half or friends, Princess Cruises is a must. While the liner is most famous for starring in The Love Boat, which was a hit TV series from the 1970s, it is now well-regarded for its refined atmosphere, beautiful interior, and fun onboard activities, such as live shows and music lessons.

There is also a cruise to suit your needs, as you can climb aboard a vessel for one day or up to 72 days. The ships also commonly depart from the likes of Fort Lauderdale or Los Angeles and will voyage to Mexico, Europe, Alaska, or the Caribbean, to name only a few.

Royal Caribbean International

Despite being named Royal Caribbean International, vacationers can choose from more than 260 destinations spread across 68 countries. Those looking for sun, sea, and sand should set sail to the likes of Mexico or the Caribbean, but if you want to experience natural wonders, you could always voyage to picturesque Alaska. Alternatively, you could explore Europe or enjoy the beauty of New Zealand and Australia. The choice is yours.

If you don’t want to mix with many travelers, you should book a passage on a smaller ship, such as the Empress of the Seas. But if you’re going to connect with many vacationers, you should book onto the larger Symphony of the Seas, which welcomes an incredible 6,600 passengers. Whatever option you choose, you can rest assured there will be restaurants to complement your tastebuds, and your children will be spoilt for choices when it comes to the kids’ entertainment programs. And if you’re vacationing with your other half, you could enjoy a relaxing, quiet dip in an adult-only pool, which will ensure you have a romantic break with your spouse.

This is a beautiful website. I have never been on a cruise and therefore, I don’t know too much about the packages or the ships. I had no idea that you could cruise for up to 72 days! Wow, I can’t imagine. The Princess and Celebrity cruises sound like my cup of tea. Thank you for sharing, I know where to go when I plan my first cruise.

Thanks Tracy!  Boy would I love to cruise for 72 days myself, but I’m afraid I’d need a whole new wardrobe because their food is delicious!

This site has some excellent content and is very informative about the different locations you can travel to. I would say in terms of advertisement, a lot of them are spot on and will really help visitors decide and explore where they want their next vacation. I need a vacation myself lol.

    Hi Leahrae,

I really enjoyed reading your article about best cruise ship destinations. It’s nice to dream about holidays like this whilst the weather is so bad at home. As I have 5 children, could you recommend any of the cruises for a family? I have always dreamed of going on a cruise, but I have always worried that they are not always family friendly. Thanks in advance, Andrew

Any of the cruises I listed are going to be great for a family.  The best family cruises are going to be with Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Disney.  They are all very family friendly.  Thanks for stopping by.

    Hello LeahRae!

Beautiful ships in your article. I cannot help but thinking of MV Balmoral, the amazingly big cruise ship that on April 15th, 2012 re-made the itinerary of Titanic, commemorating one century from the wreckage and then successfully docking in New York.

But the ships that you presented can have even greater capacities than both RMS Titanic and MV Balmoral – Symphony of the Seas is indeed a flagship of a ship! 6,600 passengers at most.

Of course the on-board conditions and offerings must be very pleasant, and changed a lot in comparison to the 1900s. If you are planning to take a cruise, then enjoy it! Maybe on the same Symphony of the Seas :).

    Best regards,

    Peter

Thanks for reading Peter, and yes so much more now then they were back in the 1900s.  What a cruise that would have been though.  Thanks for visiting.

Thank you for the awesome review!  Next year is the fourth year of my marriage to my wife.  I have been wanting to take her on a Cruise, and the princess one looks great!  I love how long you can stay on the Crusie as well.  That is pretty great.  This would be a cruise for couples who do not get a break from work constantly, in my opinion, and I would recommend this to any couple like that!

Since my friend and her husband went on their honeymoon on a cruise for days, I have really admired it so I have taken out the time to do my own research on the best of the best cruise ships out there. I fell like the celebrity cruising will mean more money than the rest but I am also sure that it will give some very topnotch experience as well. That should be my most preferred option from your post. Thanks
